An absolute classic!
As a child born in the 60's this was one of my favourite TV programmes for kids, Now in my 50's I just need to have that little bit of nostalgia and watch a programme that was popular in its time. It takes me back to being a child again and I sat absorbed by it.

another used dvd of an old childrens telly show . . .
Very reasonable quality used DVD : part of the (now seemingly obsolete) Kult-Kidz collection of long decommissioned children's TV programmes. I bought this for my own kids but only because I had fond memories of watching them when a young-un myself. Interested to see how well they have stood the test of time: despite being on dvd, they are not digitally remastered but do produce the same sense of nostalgia that you might experience from a scratchy old vinyl record;- obviously they are a delight and an oddity as well as occasionally revelatory. Although TV is restricted to an X amount down our way, our young-un's love and request these old retrospective series' as much as they do the new one's, and sometimes, surprisingly, much more often, which just goes to reinforce the old adage: they don't make em like they used to . . . . !

A lovely series for young children
I bought this for my 3 year old.I don't let him watch TV and he has friends who watch all of the time, or watch DVD's.Most kids stuff is rather violent or completely dumbed down like all of the modern puppet type things.I wanted something that he would find enjoyable and was educational at the same time.I remembered watching Mary, Mungo and Midge as a child. So I was delighted to find this DVD and it will be a treat for your kids.If they expect explosions and violence they will be disappointed - thankfully! Here's something that you won't be sorry you own. Even my wife who is anti-TV doesn't mind him watching this DVD :-)

The Complete Mary, Mungo and Midge
This was my favourite programme as a child growing up in the late sixties, early seventies and my two year old son seems to have taken it to his heart too. The animation is very simple and a bit clunky, but the stories are good and Midge mouse is an extremely engaging character. Watching it is like a breath of fresh air in that it harks back to a simpler era when there were still clock repair shops, printing presses, and red telephone boxes on every street corner. My son loves it so much that we have to watch at least a couple of episodes in a day.

Oh the memories
Just a brief note from me.My kids are 4 and 2, and we all sat down to watch this DVD which I secretly bought for myself lol...I have to say as soon as the music started I smiled, I remembered all the notes and the little flute Midge played hee hee and then my 4 yr old was recollecting the first story he saw, which was about cranes while we sat on the bus passing a building site :)) I loved it when I was little so I am sure my 2 bunnies will also!!

Mary, Mungo And Midge :-)
Growing up I used to watch this on Sunday morning TV, and I loved the stories. To me the stories are timeless and I'm sorry the kids of today don't get to see these classics. When I found out that they'd released this I knew I just had to have it in my collection.
