Quality sockets
Good quality sockets for the price. I use them daily as a millwright and they have held up to what I’ve put them through.

and the included socket rail is perfect. Sockets fit tight on the clips at first
I am really impressed with Proto sockets, they are exactly what I look for. Deep chrome, fit snugly on the ratchet, and the included socket rail is perfect. Sockets fit tight on the clips at first, but over time you can remove them with one hand. This set has six points which is the best possible surface contact you can make with a hex head bolt, ideal for stuck fasteners. For some reason my set was shipped with the 13mm missing, and a defective torx bit socket in its place, but I felt it would be unfair to let human error in packaging effect my review. I just ordered the 13mm separately (like $5) so I wouldn't have to go through the 3rd party seller return hassle.Edit: Unfortunately I find myself coming back to modify my original ratings for many Proto tools. I just recently had my 3/8" premium pear head ratchet fail, which led to the purchase of a beautiful new Stahlwille ratchet with a locking detent. The new ratchet has brought to my attention an annoying flaw in these sockets. The cut outs on the inside of the sockets to accept the ball detent of the square drive are all over the place. I noticed because the push button on my new ratchet wouldn't return to its "home" position with certain sizes in place. Three different sizes all show this symptom, which led me to inspect them all closely. I found that there is zero consistency in how deeply these cut outs are machined, as well as how far they are from the rear of the socket. This leads to a huge variance in fit, with some being perfect, others feeling loose on the drive, and the aforementioned issue of the detent not being able to seat properly. I didn't notice before because my previous ratchet wasn't locking, so there was no way to tell if the detent was fully seated. Booooo Proto, boooooo.Edit: bumped up the rating a star because Proto was willing to replace the problem sockets. Still an experience I wish I wouldn't have had, though.

Made In USA!
Looks to be a high quality socket set. I looked hi and low to find tools Made in the USA by an American owned company. Just ordered the ratchet to complete the set. Will replace all my tools this year with this company. Could care less about the looks of the package, I want American quality made by Americans

Seem good quality, but what is with the packaging?
I got the sockets this week from Proto specifically because they are made in the USA. The sockets seem good quality, probably last a lifetime, but what is with this packaging? If you are going to charge more than twice what a similar set made in China costs, you have to make some effort. I didn't do anything with this picture other than open the box. The sockets are all still stuck in some sticky plastic wrap, like they were a returned set that they just stuck in a box loose and sent to me. When I try to peel the plastic wrap off, they are covered in a sticky glue that doesn't come off easy. Come on, I should be able to open these up, put them in my box and not think about them... not have to come up with a way to clean them up. Ridiculous. I got the standard set also, similar packaging.

Top quality sockets
Proto and made in the USA, what more is there to say. Clear markings stamped into sockets, not laser etched. Easy to read and easy to use.

They look great
Haven't used them yet but they look like they will be great. The finish is very nice, consistent and shinny chrome. The numbers are large and easy to read. Should last a lifetime because they are made in the USA. The add pics were very vague so I wasn't sure what I was gonna get, but I am happy. Sizes range from 8mm to 19mm with no skips
