Gorgeous!!! Just wish the pictures were as big as the originals - definitely worth going to see the originals in Kew!!!

This must be close to all her paintings. Each picture reminds us of what we are sadly losing in Nature

This was bought as a gift and I was disappointed to find that though the book was lovely the recipient showed me that the book had previously been dropped and the corner of it had been damaged. He didn’t think this had happened in the post.So though the book was a lovely present I felt that he thought I was a cheapskate for buying it on amazon at a good price because it was damaged!I didn’t really want to have to apologise for the state of the book, I just wanted him to have unbridled joy in my gift, so I felt let down on this occasion.

The Marianne North Gallery at Kew is an unexpected joy to those entering it for the first time, and if you are unable to make frequent return visits then you will gain comfort from this splendid volume. All of her remarkable botanical paintings are reproduced in full colour, and in the numerical sequence that she laid down when the gallery was opened. You will also find it rewarding to obtain a copy of the facsimile edition (2009) of the 1914 'Official Guide to the North Gallery', which gives a full description of every painting (and is not an expensive book).

Beautiful beautiful book. Worth it. If you don't know about this collection please check it out. The book is comprehensive and packed with her amazing trips and work. Good reproductions and very interesting to see the work that is not just her botanical paintings. I really must go and see the originals at Kew.
