General Finishes Pearl Effects, 1 Pint, Burnished

I wanted to update my review, I have used this on about 10 pieces of furniture already. I love it and it pays for itself! It's been about a year and I still have about 1/3 of a can left. I mix this with my clear coat and layer it on like I would normally do with my finishes. I purchased Argentine and it's absolutely gorgeous! I am getting ready to try a different color..maybe champagne. Way to go GF for making quality products that look beautiful and never let down!

This is not an easy paint to use and get a good finish. i found after many tries is the best way is to dilute it substantially. If you don't dilute it and put it on in light coats the metallic particles will clump together forming ugly silver streaks all over the surface. Light coats and a roller helps spread them out. It takes many coats to get a nice strong pearl finish but it looks great once its done. Im still on the fence about this paint. Its too expensive to be so difficult to use. Or shall I say the problem is on white surfaces. On darker surfaces the streaking isn't as visibly pronounced but on white, one wrong move and you will have a long gray streak.

General Finishes does it once again. I bring life back to old, forgotten pieces of furniture paint by using chalk paint on them. I have tried many other companies that claim to have a good pearl effect glaze, only to be disappointed.General Finishes delivers what they advertise! The pearl finish goes on smoothly and effortlessly. The finish is awesome! I did a little girl's bedroom set and it turned out beautifully. Cleanup is a breeze with soap and water.Don't hesitate to purchase this, especially if like me, want the end result to be beautiful.

This stuff is very tricky to use. Finally got it to go on even after diluting it with water. Dried beautifully. By then I had jacked up about 4 other pieces of furniture and needed another 40 can on paint. Out of cash and patience i ditched this stuff and got some metallic spray paint.If i could do over would either dilute this with water or mix with topcoat. If you paint this straight on youre asking for heartache.

BEAUTIFUL and easy to work with!! Very versatile! We used the paint as is to make black light fixtures a beautiful copper and blended the copper with black paint to add a beautiful copper hue to our countertops. We also watered it down to do a glazing effect on our caninets today! Yes, definitely mix it well with a properly sized paint stick to blend up the glitter and paint and then there's countless projects this paint can do!! A little goes a very long way!!

I ordered the product in bronze and expected a "dark metallic brownish" color, instead this product was dark gray. It looks brown in the can, but when I put it on white wood furniture, it is a dark metallic gray color. If was difficult to use because no matter how much I stirred the paint, there were still tiny chunks of paint visible in the can and when I put the paint on smooth wood furniture, I could not get a good spread of the paint. I mixed in with a clear glaze and also with a water based poly, and it worked better, but there was more work involved. I would not purchase this again.

When I went to open the can I placed the opener under the lip. As soon as I started to open it the lid blew off. I'm not talking about just popping off I'm talking like it was under extreme pressure. I have never had a can of paint do this. It shot paint all over me the ceiling and the rug as well as other things. Extreme cleanup MESS. I did try and us it color was not as advertised did not spread well. Maybe the paint was bad. Would not recommend this to anyone.Do not buy, RUN AWAY.

The product will leave the small metallic flakes in your brush, so I opted for throw away rollers and foam brushes. When you receive it, the metallic pigments will be in a big clump so you do have to take some time to stir it well. Other than that I love how my pieces turned out.

This stuff is fantastic. However I only gave it a 4 star as it is a bit pricey after seeing the size of the tiny can I actually got. Use it sparingly!

I'm sure it will be great as all General Finishes Products.
