2nd riversong guitar that is absolutely garbage!!!!!
Where do I start?!!!!!Well this is the 2nd Riversong guitar I purchased recently. I should of my learned my lesson the 1st time around! The 1st riversong guitar I bought was the Tradition CDN. Like the previous model, I purchased this Tradition 3 because I felt the price was worth the risk.. I also thought maybe I got a lemon the 1st rime around. One more reason: the wood and fretboard material being used is different than the Tradition CDN model (the description given here is not the description given by the manufacturer. Needless to say, the item definitely matches the manufacturers description). So here we go: this guitar arraived in absolutely terrible condition. It's as if it was stored in a dry and hot place for several years...(1) The headstock wood is cracked.(2) Top is also cracked in the middle all the way to the bridge(3) Wood splitting everywhere.(4) Rattles when played(5) Frets buzz(6) Gaps between frets and fret board.(7) Frets are not flush with fretboard. Rough around the edges.(8) Rusted hardware.(9) There is dried "glue" all over the inside of the guitar. Everywhere!!!! Especially around bracing.(10) Horrible tone just like TRAD CDN model.(11) Wood discoloration from the stickers placed on sides.(12) Etc, etc, etc. It really goes on, on, on and on.The seller could not believe all the damage I was describing. I had to send a gamut of pictures. I have no idea how so much damage could incur as the box it was delivered in showed no damage. The case that comes with this model is great and also shows no signs of damage/abuse. Which is why I feel this guitar was probably stored in a very hot and dry place. These guitars are expensive especially if you try to get them somewhere else other than amazon. I gave riversong guitars 2 chances. The 2nd time around it was extremely costly... It's a shame because I find their technology fascinating and their guitars beautiful, when in one piece...Save your money. This guitars fails miserably at being aguitar. Once again, looks does not equal tone. 2 lemons now...*******************Update 07-02-24: I was finally able to sell this trash to guitar center. I sold it several months ago. I looked online and guitar center has not been able to sell it. They've had it now for about half a year. The woods and craftsmanship are definitely there for this guitar. However, the sound is drastically thin and "airy." It is just lacking in every way. Great technology yet awful tone.I sold both of the guitars I had from this builder to Guitar Center. Both times they struggled to sell. This last one has yet to be sold by them. If a guitar store is unable to sell a guitar there is a clear message there--these guitars suck as guitars. They are good "statues" but not good instruments at all. Hear the videos online and the flaws will become very apparent. They haven't been massively adopted for good reason. Junk is junk even when good materials are used.*******Update 05/06/25: Guitar center has still been unable to sell this junk. I went in yesterday to buy a guitar and noticed they still haven't sold it eventhough they keep lowering the price. They have been unable to sell it now for about a year and a half. If any of you are interested in buying this junk you can find it on guitar center website, Albuquerque location.
