Apple Lightning to 30-pin Adapter

I have a few older Dynex ipod touch/iphone docks to connect to audio systems and a nice Pioneer NAS-3 powered speaker sounddock but they have 30 pin connectors (for older ipod touch and iphones). The docks and speaker sounddock still work fine but I've found that in the last few years, my older ipod touch won't function with some of the Christian website audio streaming services that I like to use for Christian music and talk. I bought a current (7th gen) ipod touch and it doesn't have a problem with any of the audio streaming so my guess is that either the older IOS that the ipod touch runs (still version 6) or the slower processor can't handle the task. (I wish Apple still provided updates for their older IOS but I think they actually do a better job than the Google guys do with Android - seems like some versions of Android were getting orphaned so fast it was unbelievable.) So in order to get the new ipod touch to work with the docking stations and sounddock, I needed a good 30 pin to lightning connector and they are hard to find! If you read the reviews, there are lots of units out there but many of them can only charge the ipod or iphone and don't provide an audio connection. Or they claim to provide an audio connection but they really don't! The Apple website didn't have 30 pin to lightning connectors on them when I looked and the market probably isn't very strong but some of us still need them. The unit I got from 6th ave appears to be the genuine Apple product in the correct Apple packaging. It does the job and has been functioning well!

I read a lot of reviews about this particular item. I normally do because it affects if I buy it or not. I saw that it quite a few people complained about the size issue. But I ended up getting it and it fits perfectly. I have a jukebox that has the old 30 pin adapter and I needed something to fit the current iphones. The size was no issue and everything works great. The sound quality is fine and it was more pricey because it’s an Apple product which is why it got four stars for the money. Come on Apple, it shouldn’t cost $35! However I did notice on the box it says 2012 so maybe that’s the reason for size differentiation? It came in an Apple box and looks legit so not sure what other people were thinking in their reviews.

I does work well for connecting to my stereo system. I do have to take the case off my phone (which is minimal), but that is easily done.

Apple keeps changing the charging cables for every new iphone and I don’t have money to keep changing my navigation system in my car....After all these years of giving up on my car navigation system iPhone/ipod hook up....this product actually works! I’ve tried many products and they would either only charge and no audio output, or not compatible at all! I have been only using the aux cord, which does not charge my phone, nor display the content on my car screen. It worked for years when the headphone port was separate from the charging port. I could charge and use the headphones at the same time. Now Apple made the headphone and audio as one port, it was either charging or listening to music separately. I am happy to have this one little piece and now my “old” system works again! Con: I wish it came with an extended of some sort, I have to remove my phone case for the connection, or now purchase an extender. $30 is a bit much for one little piece though....

Years ago I'd spliced an iPhone 4 type cord into the 10-disc CD changer cable in a 2002 GM car to play audio throug the stock radio. This adapter was just the ticket to allow us to connect our newer iPhone 6 and 8 to that existing cable. Now we can play audio from our newer iPhones, and the charging works too. Yes, you need to remove the case from your iPhone for the adapter to fit into your phone, but that's OK. I'm totally happy with this. I have not tried data transfer via the adapter, I have no need for that (we just use a regular lightning USB cord for any & all required data transfers). Several people have asked if this is a real Apple product (vs. knockoff or 3rd party) - it certainly seems to be authentic Apple so far as I can tell.

Purchased 30 December 2015. Item not worth the money spent. The charge does not hold, nor does the audio play. I purchased this item to convert the 32 pin to a 8 on a Sony ICFCS15IP - 30 Pin iPod/iPhone Speaker Dock. The fit is perfect, however, the charge the 6S gets last approximately 4 hours which is half the time if plugged into an outlet. In addition and the worst part of it all - the audio does not play. I'm greatful that the Sony ICFCS15IP has an auxiliary port. Which I connected to the 6S - and now I have music. So in addition to paying $30 for the adapter, spent another $8 for the audio cable.

Purchased directly from Amazon. Product was an official Apple product as far as I can tell. Product passes audio, allows iPod control/playback, and charges iPhones (mostly) as advertised. It only supports charging when attached to newer 5v based 30-pin chargers. It does not charge when attached to older Firewire based (12v) 30-pin devices. In combination with BMR 30 Pin Power Adapter for Bose Sounddock Original this adapter functions perfectly in our 2008 Infiniti (12v Firewire charge system) allowing audio playback, iPod control and charging our iPhones. Docking one star because Apple's product information claims that this device "Supports analog audio output, USB audio, as well as syncing and charging." but does not state that the charge function only works with newer 30-pin 5v charge devices. Docking a second star because this device can't be attached to an iPhone in a case. Apple used to make a charge adapter with a pigtail but that adapter didn't pass audio properly and has since been discontinued.

Bought it to be able to continue to use my Logitech kit - basically adapt the original iPhone connector on it to support our newer lightning connector iPhones, an 6S and an 8. It works. The device fits snugly over the original iPhone connector on the Logitech and then, once you take the case off your iPhone, you can connect the phone to the Logitech - and all is good. So while it is a bit of a pain to have to remove the iPhone case, it's not a deal breaker for me - and extends the life of a decent soundbox in the workshop. I don't notice any degradation in sound quality. So now I can still use my iPod Nano and my newer iPhones. Looked at less expensive ones, and looked at buying direct from Apple, but bought this Apple connector on Amazon and saved a few bucks.

Great works well and is sturdy. I use it with my iPhone and the sound and charging are not to be beaten. Why can't all products be delivered to such a high standard. Acudí a este artículo desde el enlace del mismo producto pero Apple. Malísima calidad, no es el de Apple aunque se enlace como nuevo modelo y coincida el nombre de referencia. Es similar a los que he comprado por 7€ y que se me han roto mil veces. Lo adquirí por esperar mayor calidad y no funciona con una base Dock Bosé que si me ha funciona con artículos de peores caracteristicas

Won a CD / MP3 player a few years ago and hardly used it. Need this piece to have it compatible with my iPhone 8.

It does what it says and that is the biggest compliment you can receive these days. Works perfect.

Il prodotto è pessimo; è male assemblato, si scolla il circuito elettronico dall'involucro di plastica. Inoltre non funziona perché non carica il cellulare. Per Amazon: fate il favore di evidenziare a chiare lettere quando il prodotto è cinese, anche perché in questo caso, l'oggetto acquistato non ha un prezzo dissimile dall'originale (circa 30% in meno), ma adesso dovrò perdere del tempo per restituire il prodotto, fare la coda in posta, etc....Cosimo
