Tamiya 87177 Masking Tape, for Curves, 2Mm

I needed some tape that would bend easily and not tent up in the curves and this does the job! good adhesion and leaves clean lines stays in place!!

Great product! Indispensable. I used it for faux binding for a flamed maple topped guitar. Normally for real guitar binding, plastic binding strips are glued into tiny wood-routed channels around the corners of guitars, but I chose to tape that area with this Tamiya tape then spray Transtint sunburst orange colored dye over the flamed maple with the tape, then removed the tape and had a perfect line. The result was beautiful flamed maple binding around the guitar with no orange dye on the taped area; this is similar to what high-end PRS guitars have. I wouldn't have been able to do this with other tape because no other tape I've found has the side-to-side flexibility (nor the adhesion) as this tape.

I used this to add a strip around the body of my electric guitar to make it look like it had binding. It’s incredible how easy to use it is. The curving/bending ability is very effective, and I was surprised how well it actually curved. However, one thing to note is that the adhesive is not very strong, so it might not hold up in the long run if you’re trying to use it for anything other than masking (like adding details to crafts and sorts). If you’re simply using it for masking tape however, it works very well, and the lack of adhesive makes it very easy to remove without damaging anything.

As an artist I used this tape to create clean lines for circles and subjects with lots of curves, such as people. This tape doesn’t stick very well to canvas, but still does the job. You can see the lines came out great in my artworks, but it takes a bit of rubbing down to make sure the tape fully sticks.

This tape is amazing. With it, I have been able to get perfect paint lines on my projects. I have even been able to do a circle with a single piece. I will buy this again. One thing though. Make sure you check width when buying.

4 stars because the photo is misleading. It’s only one roll. There are cheaper options out there for more rolls.

I used the tape to mask a difficult paint line for airbrushing. It went on very well while I stretched it slightly, and came off very clean. A great product.

Works really well on tight curves, even on round surfaces. It leaves sharp lines and doesn't lift existing paint

The product got here in great time, considering the distance. The take seems quite flexible, which is good for what I need, though I have yet to put it through it's paces. So far so good.

One word tamiya great curves even thin pin strip not near as good use what pros use I,'ll send off for all sizes with extra for stock
