Simple but superb!
This simply one of, if not the best, "tick tracers" I've ever used. I'm a commercial electrician, & this thing just works! It's simple without all off the beeps, flashing colored lights, laser pointer, or flashlight. No on/off button.......just touch it to what you're testing, & if it lights up red, you have power. It's very accurate too when checking multiple wires in the same junction box--you have to be right on the wire so you don't get a false reading from a nearby wire. Only tick tracer style tester I have used in the last 15 years in the trade!

Super convenient, reliable, long lasting battery... But not durible!
I'm a professional electrician. It reads accurately. Only glows when the tip is right on a live wire or object. Seems to do a good job of ignoring trace induced on one wire from a parallel one in a wiring rats nest. I really love how I can just remove it from my bag, tap it somewhere to get it to light up and show it works, then test a circuit without fiddling with a button every time.I had it at my side for around seven months without the batteries dying. Doesn't seem that it always being "on" drains the batteries significantly. It snapped clean in two after a week or two of climbing around in attics sitting in my side-pouch. I must have been leaning pretty hard on my side and pressed it against several joists. It's just 1/8th inch of plastic housing this tick tracer has, so it eventually snapped. The only other thing it fell short at: It does insert and read the hot slot of a standard 125v receptacle, but it doesn't reach far enough in to read 208v or 277v receptacles what for 30-50amp appliances.Still works after snapping. But I decided to go with a fluke afterwords because I'm too rough on gentle equipment like this.If you're a technician whose job isn't too rough on their tools, this is a great little doodad. My favorite among all I've tried for the convenience and accuracy. I just wish it were a bit more skookum.

Well made
This is the ticker you need for CatV up to 1000V. No on off just simple, easy, and effective.
