Great materials
Perfect mask making sized squares for me. They would also work well for quilting. They are a lighter weight cotton with a weave and weight similar to a cotton broadcloth. The prints are pretty well on grain. I did a pre-wash on these and had minimal shrinkage. Obviously, if you are concerned about fraying, put a quick finish on the edges before you pre-wash.

Charming patterns; much more sheer than a Kleenex
I was sitting on the couch tonight, admiring the pretty patterns of these thin fabric squares, when I decided to try a test. I grabbed a facial tissue (cheap Kroger brand; nothing fancy) and held it up between my face and the lamp. The tissue glowed with light, but I couldn't see the source. It could have been a lamp, a lantern, candles - there was no telling. Then I chose the darkest, busiest patterned fabric square from my order, and held it up in the same way. Ha! Not only could I see the lamp, I could clearly distinguish the blue, green and beige colors in the shade! I could see everything on the end table. Holding this fabric up in front of my face, I could see my bottle of water that was half full. I read the other reviews saying this material was thin. I believed them, but I didn't mind, because I wanted to use the material to make appliques for a wall hanging. Fortunately, my underlying fabric is a plain, medium-toned beige. I think if I was going to sew this fabric onto a patterned material, that pattern would show through. Believe the reviewers who tell you this fabric is THIN. You can't call it paper-thin, because paper is thicker. The patterns are really pretty and charming. I do wonder if fabric this thin is capable of holding color when washed. Or shape. Nine of the pieces were badly creased and will have to be gone over with a steam iron before they are useful.

This isn't quilters cotton
This is very low-grade, very thin fabric. The sellers should know that it's really dishonest to actually advertise this as quilters cotton. It's very sheer. I'm not even sure what you could actually use this for because the quality is so bad. I want to know what projects other people are working on because I can't imagine this would work for anything.I am attaching the "thickest" square I found, even though they were all pretty much uniformly thin and low quality. And no, it is not advertised as light weight. That does not appear in any line of the description, so I don't know why people keep mentioning this unless they continuously change the wording. It's too bad, too, because the fabric is pretty.

You Get What You Pay For
I know with a title like that, you expect a lower rating. But I bought this for the sole purpose of making doll clothes for Barbie-sized dolls and wanted a wide variety of patterns/colors on the cheap. If you're looking for a way to quick start a bunch of small sewing projects for cheap, and aren't fussy about quality, these are the fabrics for you. After having and using these fabrics for a while, there are a couple of flaws. The fabric is extremely thin to the point where they might as well be sheer at times (as shown in photo 1). This fabric also has a BAD tendency to fray (tried my best to demonstrate with photo 2). It gets worse when you actually start sewing around the edges of the fabric (photo 3, again tried my best to demonstrate via photos of something I made). Despite all my negative comments, the patterns/colors are all cute and I look forward to using them. Once you work around the fraying, you're left with decent fabric that you got for a very good/cheap price point. Little finicky and too thin for certain things but I would still recommend for people who are looking for a wide variety of fabric for cheap. (Note: I hand sew my doll clothes and have never used a sewing machine on these fabrics so I can't testify to how they'd work with a machine.)

Frays
This material is ok for kid crafts but not for serious quilters. The fabric frays badly and you would need to use a tiny quilting pattern if you decided to use it for that purpose. It has maybe 80-90 threads per square inch. It is however a useful and inexpensive material to use for scrapbooking, Mason jar caps, little flower pot covers and things of this nature.
