My son loves the book but...
....it's hard to get him to put it down! He's eagerly awaiting vol. 3. He thinks it's really neat how you read it backwards from the way you'd usually read a book.

Hareta is such a Gary-Sue.
The humor in this series is decent, such as the expressions and visual gags, but the fact that the main character (Hareta) is able to do things such as survive drowning or cross the fortress of steel despite his diminutive size, or think of complex strategies despite being canonically stupid, really seems to put a strain on the reader's willing suspension of disbelief. Despite that, I still want to see how it ends.

GROSS
I DISKLIKE the fact the cover has gross, stickey food stains. In this world we live in this is UNACCEPTABLE! You could have at least wiped off the over! Come on! In a hurry to get my money but can't be decent about wiping it off. Whoever handled the book would have had to of known ! I'm very upset over this

Great for the Pokemon fan - but book reads back to front!
We ordered this for a birthday present for a friend of my sons who is a pokemon fan. My son seemed to think that they look fab and would go down very well, having seen them, he wants them too now. Strangely they are laid out back to front, literally. The story seems to start at the back of the book, and so is the front cover on the back! Maybe its something to do with being translated from the Japanese? Very weird to us Brits, but doesn't seem to detract 9 year old boys. It is a cartoon style story board, not pages of text. On the whole would recommend to young Pokemon fans.
