I used to be a runner, then moved to Nordic walking
I used to be a runner, then moved to walking and cross training when running got to be too much on my whole body. For some time I have been intrigued by nordic walking, wanting to add some intensity to my walks. I've read alot on how the Europeans all NW, and of all the great health benefits of it. I searched Amazon and settled on York Nordic's poles. I have been using them now for three months. I walk twice a week for 45 minutes, more if I have time. I am officially a convert and I am very pleased with the quality of these poles. NWing easily raises your heartrate without much noticeable difference to the intensity of your workout. I've noticed some weight loss, but that is not my #1 goal. The poles are very well made. The gloves adjust easily and the clip is easy to lock in and disconnect as needed.I noticed in some of the reviews people complained that the color of one of the poles is an adhesive sticker and not imbued into the pole itself. I did notice this, and noticed the sticker does not adhere real well in places (see my pics), but this is not that big a deal to me. It does not change the function of the poles. I just push it back into place and it stays for a while. Here are my pros and cons for these poles:Pros:-Rugged, solid build.-Adjustable 2 piece-Nice carrying bag so the poles aren’t scattered in your trunk-tips are rugged, and omnidirectional, so it doesn’t matter how they are seated on the tip. They will work any way they are on the ends.-glove is easy to get on.-clip is fairly easy to use, getting on and off the locking mechanism.-I was a bit skeptical of the cork handle, but it works very well. My hands grip well and don’t slip when sweaty.-I do like the length locking system. My other poles have a twist lock, and that works okay, but I do like being able to adjust the pole and just flip the clip and lock it where it is.Cons:-poles are a bit heavy. I may try carbon fiber next time.-clip requires some fine motor skills to get it into the locking area. Could be a problem for some people.Summary: I’m glad i chose these poles, and would buy them again. I may do so, to replace some of my trekking poles that are getting old. I recommend you buy them and get out there and Nordic Walk. It may look strange to some passers-by, but so did running and bicycling when it was novel.

Perfect walking poles
Light, strong and comfortable the 2 section design allows for easy adjustment for footwear of different sole thickness: from lightweight low profile walking shoes to heavy duty backwoods hikers you do not have to switch poles. The Nordic straps are easily adjustable and can slip over thin gloves like XC ski gloves so one can walk with warm hands on coll days. Tip choice is an easy swap, just pull the all way round rubber tips to reveal the carbide ends and again easily make a micro adjustment for proper fit. Company support and info is first rate, very helpful, I would highly recommend this affordable pair.

Perfect Poles For Beginners
These York Nordic Walking Poles are very good moderately-priced aluminum poles. Perfect for someone new to Nordic walking. Easily-adjustable pole length. Cork grips. Comfortable quick-release gloves. Good quality carbide tips plus removable rubber boot tips for hard surfaces and baskets for snow or sand. Everything you need in a Nordic walking pole.

Great product, not easy to return
Loved the actual walking sticksUnfortunately my partner is one that walks like a speed demon and she couldn’t make herself walk with long strides so the benefit of the increased calorie burn would not be aplicable.OkLive and learnThe problem here is with the return processWe got two sets, two different colors and two different shippersWorking the return was an actual challengeOne shipper required printing of a label and packaging before dropping at a UPS location and I was charged 6.00 to returnThe second seller required no label, had a QR code BUT required packagingThat’s a first for meI’ve probably bought 300 items with my Prime membership and returned 15 maybe? Every time I’ve had a QR code I wasn’t required to pack the item. So I had to return home and find the original box which luckily we hadn’t trashed to repack and returnNow YES, the long written instructions with the QR code did say pack it, but that’s the first time I have encountered this particular process. My point? (Yes dear reader I have one) triple check the small print in what you order and what is covered for returnsAMAZON really needs to simplify all of their items to make sure Prime is easy and directI know I’m mostly at fault here, just truly irritating that there are so many different sets of rules for returns and even on IDENTICAL itemsUgh

Happy with these poles...have made a huge difference for me!
I have had foot surgeries and have an awkward gait and haven't walked well in years. I got these poles to see if they would help. THEY DO! I am now able to actually walk for 20 minutes non-stop feeling safe and secure. The extra stability they provide has been fantastic! If I travel in the future, I may buy a set of traveling poles because using poles actually enable me to walk well enough now that I think I can enjoy walking tours again.Customer service was fine and personal. I noticed one of the sleeves was tighter than the other due to a difference in the way they were made. Lauren was grateful that I pointed it out and I received a new pair of sleeves.Very please with these walking poles and recommend them and York Nordic!

Great product
I am 75 yrs old with one titanium hip. I am thrilled to find Nordic walking. Having the poles gives me a degree of security ( even though they mostly drag behind.) I walk taller and at a steadier pace. I like the little effort when planting pole on push-off stroke, giving my arms and core a little workout too. These were easy to adjust following the instructions. Like the fun print and color. I appreciate the ease and comfort and security of the straps. All around terrific purchase. Very pleased

The York Nordic "Man Up" walking poles are excellent not only for providing stability
The York Nordic "Man Up" walking poles are excellent not only for providing stability, but also giving you an upper body workout while walking. The locking mechanism works very well. I would recommend them to anyone in the market for an excellent set of walking poles.

Good value for the price. I like the gloves and the lock system on the poles. The carrying bag is a great bonus.

Poor quality
These are our second set of poles a different make and these are no where near the quality of the other poles. We tighten them up and every time the let go and slip. The hand wraps are very uncomfortable and find it awkward to grip the handles. The first big hike we used them they let go causing a serious fall.Won't be buying this brand again they are bent and in the garbage after a couple of weeks.
