Active Air ACF16 16 inch 3-Speed Wall-Mountable 90-Degree Oscillating Hydroponic Grow Fan

Mounted in the corner of the garage to try to keep a little cooler in the southern summer. And it mounts easily, has a good range of oscillation, generally does a the god of moving air fairly well. The pull strings are solid and distinct in their click. Two issues I have with this fan that made me think long and hard between 3 and 4 stars.1) The fan comes with the guards and blades unmounted to save significant space in the box and requires some assembly. Easy enough, except for one thing. Once you connect the back cage, and the blade, you then have to connect the front cage guard. This is done with a plastic band that tightens like a hose clamp with a screw. The two parts of the cage guard fit into slots in this band clamp. Getting the clamp on, and the cages held in place while you do this was a real pain in the butt. If it's tight enough to hold them from slipping, it too tight to slip over one side. If it's loose enough to slip over one side, then it won't hold the cages in place. You could tape them together, but, there's a ridge in the center of the ring clamp holding the cages apart, so you have to have some motion in two to get it on.In the end, I used twist ties and tape to hold the two halves together while getting the clamp positioned and tightened. Then carefully pulled out the twist ties with a needle nose pliers. Not ideal at all. Should have those little snap latches. This alone took me almost 45 mins to accomplish. That's the one star removed. For reference, from open the box to turning it on hanging on the wall took an hour. 75% just getting that annoying from grill on.2) I would take another half star off if I could. The fan is a touch weak in the amount of air it moves. Not too bad, just wish it had a little more push. Other fans I've had used were a little more breezy. It's not useless, or too weak to be useful, just a touch less than I would have expected for this size fan. Not worth a whole star on that, because nothing in the description implies it will move tons of air, and it does the job well enough.

About a year ago I purchased two of these from Amazon and mounted them on opposite walls in my kitchen. I live in South Texas where it gets pretty hot and humid in the summer. My kitchen gets pretty stuffy when the windows are closed and working in the kitchen in summer was pretty miserable. So in summer I had to crank my central air conditioning down to 70 just to ensure some good air flow. With these fans I can get air circulation in my kitchen without running the air conditioning at full speed.I was impressed that the fan's outer wire frame was of all-metal construction - even the clips that hold the front and back together. Plastic frame clips are very common on fans in my experience. I expect this outer frame to last for many years - even with taking the front off occasionally for cleaning. Some of the other plastic assemblies of the fan seem a little flimsy at first. When I first pulled the pull-chains to turn on the fan and turn on the oscillation, I figured I would have to eventually fix/replace the pull switches when someone in the house pulled on them too hard. But after a year I have had zero problems with these fans. I think the engineer(s) that designed these fans have done a great job. Nothing lasts forever, but I think these fans will last fro quite a few years.You just have to have electrical outlets conveniently available for your fan(s). Fortunately I did. These fans have made my kitchen bearable in summer again.

These fans are okay. If you are trying to move air around, sure they will do the trick.I bought 8 of these and within the first 6 months I had 2 stop working, no idea why. One day they were running, I turned them off for some light dusting and they never turned back on.After about a year they all failed on me, granted I did drop 1 of them. I kept these fans running 24/7 and never had an issue as long as they ran. It was when I turned them off for whatever reason they just wouldn't turn back on or they would stop oscilating.I still have 1 running today, 4 years later, not sure if it was one of the first ones I bought for not but it doesn't oscilate anymore.

This is about the 10 th one I owned ,they last about 1 to 2 years running 24/7 ovulating feature is most vulnerable to failure

I love this fan! It's stylish & colorful, was very easy to install (took me 10 min) & it works great! It has 3 speeds & oscillates. I live in Las Vegas & need a fan in addition to the AC to keep me cool at night & this is fantastic. It isn't constantly in my way the way my tower fan was, which is why I wanted a wall mounted fan. The price was just right, too!

Incredibly easy to mount to wall!!!! I was expecting having to try and line up holes in the wall perfectly to match up to holes in the fan...but surprisingly this fan is the easiest wall installation! Just attached the plate to the wall, then hook the fan to the plate by simply setting it onto the tab. Crazy easy!!!My only complaint was that it was a pain in the butt trying to use the provided plastic ring to join the two halves of the fan cage together. I could not do it - It just kept moving and the fan would move. I ended up using a bunch of zip ties to bind the two halves together. But its not very noticeable so I don't really care. I Love it!Update: the pull string to control oscillation came off pretty easily and now cannot control the oscillation. Bummer. Should have bought one with remote control feature...

I bought one December 14, 2017, mounted it in my chicken coop and ran it pretty much constantly since I bought it. It was in a high dust environment, had to keep it blown off with my blower when I cleaned the coop each time, but it finally died today. I have no complaints, worked hard in a tough environment. Would be better if it was dust proof so minus one star for only that. Ordering another one!

Bought two of these 9 months ago one still works the other seized up. Some of my Hurricane fans are over 10 years old and still pushing air. All my fans run constant to keep air flowing. These are great fans when they work some seem to work better than others. I don't expect the other fan I purchased to make it a year but who knows. I'm going back to Hurricane

Ill give it 2 because the second one we bought is still going barely, but the swing motion broke so now it sits in one position. I'll buy a better one next time. UPDATE: Junk after 6 months neither of the 2 will swing anymore. Piece of crap. Pay more to get a better quality. Had to change to 1 star

Very cheaply made . Not recommended. Bought 2 .1 came in and had to completely take a part cuz screws fell out and were bouncing around. The one that came with no lose pieces blew fuse in about 5 minutes running.Spend more save more cuz I will be tossing these and buying better ones.Seller good product bad.It’s all made in China though so it’s luck of the draw.You pay Chinese factory to slap logo on product they sell it as quality.I know I did it for years

Bought 6 of these fans they all stop oscillating after 3 months, every ..single..one. All stopped working. Killed all my plants from heat stress. Cant get a refund because three months is all they cover. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STAY AWAY FROM THESE FANS!

Initially plugged it in and it worked. Mounted it to the wall, plugged it in and NOTHING. Apparently a fuse blew in the power cord. Instructions said a spare fuse was included. It wasn't. Customer service via telephone was non exsistant. We ordered a fuse special order from local hardware store. Meantime the fan is useless.

A little pricey. Especially when it doesn’t work as advertised! If I have the fan mounted on wall and if pointed down oscillation doesn’t work as described. Would get 5 stars if rectified!
