Better than the original, good quality material, indicator that lets you know when device is locked or unlocked, better lock and key, and easy to install on either side. 😎👍

I like this lock - the only knock - when installing the piece that attaches to the gate - the way it is engineered - there is limited drill hole flexibility when you extend the connector to be able to catch on the large lock apparatus connected to the fixed gate post. In other words, there are only so many holes where you can feed the screw through the pre-drilled holes in the plastic piece that is connected to your gate door when you start to adjust with the single screw the distance of the piece that catches/connects to the secured gate post component. Need to have more adjustability to screw on the gate post component when distances are different. Have only 2 screws hold the gate door component is not ideal - I would like to see 4 available; otherwise I will need to drill 2 holes myself through the plastic component to have 4 holes available for the screws to hold the device more securely. Also, the bumber provided - it would be better if this was cut into 2 pieces (i.e., 50% off its depth) OR slided into 1/3 - that way I would not need to cut it in half with a saw to have it fit my fencing. This unit needs more "adjustable" components for uneven gate installation (not plum), larger distances, and for more secure attaching of the devices. Also, would be nice to get screw hole plugs to simply plug into the older holes to at least hide the holes rather than puddy them, sand, and repaint.

seems quite sturdy ,may need several adjustements before closing properly, wish the clasp was not plastic and made of stronger material hoping it does not crack in winter otherwise very happy , easy to use
