This has been the best lap desk I have ever owned. The cover or top is wipeable but not slick so the computer doesn't slide around at all. The wrist pad does a great job of supporting your wrists and also holding the laptop steady. This seems like a small consideration but what I've found is that my typing accuracy has improved greatly because the keyboard is no longer moving around while I'm typing as it did on my old lap desk. Although I don't own a tablet, I bought the desk with the tablet slot because it doesn't detract in any way from my using it as a laptop desk and, who knows, I may own a tablet in the future. The lap desk is also very attractive. Instead of looking like a piece of plexi or a board attached to a throw pillow, all of the components of this lap desk are integrated securely and seamlessly together and the effect seems to be more like it's a piece of furniture that is also super portable. Finally, if you are concerned about protection from EMF's, it is comforting to have a very thick and dense pillow between you and your computer while working on it. Some lap desks have no pillow or strips of foam. Whether you believe EMF's are a concern or not, why wouldn't you want to behave as if they are potentially harmful if using this between you and your machine is all it takes? Regardless of concerns about EMF's, the pillow makes it super comfy in any position.

Fits my Surface 3 Pro beautifully with one caveat. I have one of those UGG super mega cases on my Surface. It has it's own stand which fits precisely in the tablet slot. Then the angle created between the screen and attached keyboard is perfect. If you want to use the Suface Pro 3 "naked" the slot is just not wide enough to fit the fold out stand. You can still rest the stand against the edge of the slot but it isn't quite as secure. The wood is a nice touch and is solid. It has an expensive and rich feel to it. Wrist rest is terrific. The fabric that covers the foam on the bottom and wrist rest seems durable without being scratchy. This is a quality item. Also, I despise all touch pads and there is enough room on the side for me to use a wave mouse with the Surface. I have a 15" and 17" laptop and have not used it for either so I cannot offer advice here. I don't know if Sofia & Sam offer a lap desk that has a slide our swing out mouse pad, but that is the only thing I would look for and be willing to pay extra for. I imagine a 15" without the tablet slot might give you sufficient room for a mouse, but best to measure first if that's what you are looking for. This has saved my back a lot of grief as I usually work on the couch with the laptop on the coffee table. Not healthy for the spine.

Great size, materials, and comfort. it's big enough for my full size laptop (with a 10-key pad on it) but not a mouse. That's fine by me. Why not five stars? The memory foam on the bottom really isn't doing much in that way. It's very comfortable and rests, but does not get enough downward pressure to conform it's shape to your lap. Not a killer at all, would buy again. UPDATE: Have purchased a second one to avoid further conflict in the household. It's definitely good enough for daily use.

I am exceptionally pleased with my Sofia + Sam All Purpose Memory Foam Lap Desk. I had looked far and wide on Amazon for just the right lap desk. I wanted something that would hold an iPad Air and still have room on the side to write, something that would hold a full size open book, a large even surface writing area, a slot to put my iPad in so I could sit back and watch videos, movies or listen to music, a comfortable memory foam portion for my lap and a nice wood presentation for the top portion. This lap desk is all of that in one. It looks very classy and is extremely user friendly. I also like the wrist rest as I am able to rest my books I am reading upon that area. It makes reading even easier. Thanks to this vendor for a superb quality product that not only looks wonderful but also allows me to use it for many different projects. The product arrived quickly and was packaged very well.

This is nicely made. The wood is classy. And it sit well on my lap. I am going to have a great time using it for many different things.

We bought 2 a week ago, one for my husband and one for me. We both are very happy with these lap desks. They're solid, light weight and very comfortable to use while sitting on the couch. The memory foam padding is SO much better than the little bead filled pouches. We use 15" MacBook Pros and the wrist rest is in perfect alignment with the height of the keyboard. With the laptop aligned with the left edge of the lap desk there is a 4-1/2" space for our wireless mouses which is adequate. The surface is pretty slippery so if the desk is tilted the mouse will slide off. I may glue a piece of felt to the surface to fix that. Due to the size of the laptop we don't use the groove in the back, but it would be handy for an iPad or phone when not using the laptop. Right now I just use it my notepad to to keep it handy. All in all we're very happy with these desks.

The lap desk exceeded my expectations. My lap top computer sits on the work surface very well. The top keeps the computer stable and I find it very easy to type when I'm working on the computer. I like the way the lap desk is slanted so that my hands feel comfortable as I use the computer. In addition, the lap desk is good looking with the brown wood surface and black cushion base. Another point, the cushion base absorbs the heat from my laptop and I do not feel the computer heat when I'm using the lap desk. My only complaint is that the lap desk seems large when I use it as a writing desk. For a writing desk, it could be a little smaller. So far, I'm pleased with this product.

I love this! I bought to tie fishing lures on while sitting in recliner. Works great for laptop too.

Got this for my 15.6 inch Asus laptop , and for my iPad as well and its perfect !! Definitely worth the money and I can sit with my laptop on my lapdesk for hours without getting sore . The memory foam is very sturdy so you will be inclined to use it every time . Shipping was also fast !!

I just threw away a lap desk that had polystyrene beads in the base, the pouch holding the beads started to come away from the desk part....I wanted something of better quality and this was my choice. Am not disappointed at all, it is a little on the heavy side, but that is because it is well made, it is quite comfortable because of the memory foam in the base, is also firm and holds the laptop steady....my 15 inch laptop fits snugly on top, I actually made the purchase as a base for my iPad Pro and it is perfect. I nearly didn't buy it as I thought it was a little pricey, however, I think because of the quality, it will last a lot longer than my previous purchase. Would recommend as is perfect for using whilst reading or writing notes too.

Brilliant lap desk, this product is well made with very comfortable cushion, doubles up easily as a writing lap-desk. I use it with 15.6" laptop and there's plenty of room on either side so this could take bigger laptops as well. I have been through cheaper products in the past which either have less cushion or edges which are uncomfortable, this has no such problem, cushion doesn't slip, would highly recommend.

I love this laptop table; it's super comfortable as the cushion is in one piece and lays completely over my lap and doesn't move around.
