Hasbro Playskool T.J. Bearytales Animated Plush Bear

Words cannot express what a wonderful toy this is. If you compare it to the many toys on the market that are stuffed animals that sing, dance, etc., it is far above those. This is not a play-with-it-once and forget it kind of toy; it is something akin to a friend. TJ speaks and sings, but he also has articulated arms, eyes, ears, and head, so he moves much like a person would to emphasize what he is saying. Your child can read along if desired, or he/she can just watch and be enthralled. I bought one of these years ago for my brother's three children, and he said they would sit and listen to TJ read them stories. Even a few years later, he said they still get it out occasionally and play with it again. I bought this one for my mother, who is 90 years old and has Alzheimer's. She was so enchanted with it, smiling and touching it, that we were touched just watching her. It's puzzling that this toy ever went out of production. It's one of the finest pieces of workmanship and thoughtful design I have ever seen in a toy. If you're fortunate enough to find one, don't hesitate. You will be delighted.

I bought this for my son for Christmas - when he was just 7 months old. I know he's too young for TJ but I was taken in by the bear when I first saw "him" in the toy store. The cheerful, animated bear scared him a little initially but he took to it in a couple of days and would sit and stare in awe as TJ told his stories. To be honest, my wife and I took to TJ as well and "he" became like a family member too.As with many toddlers who have TJ, my son loved TJ so much he'd drag TJ around by the arm (like a friend) and give TJ tight hugs - dislodging his arm and head. So, the recent purchase I made was our third TJ. I do wish TJ was more durable but it is well worth the money considering it has brought so much joy to my little boy - and to us as well.We've all the story cartridges and it is a pity that PlaySkool has stopped producing them. I do hope that they'll consider producing more of these and continue producing TJs so that more kids can enjoy the cute loveable bear.

I got this for my Grandaughter. I just HAD to get him out of the box and check him out! Based on the Teddy Ruxpin that I got my daughter so many years ago, I just could not believe the difference in TJ compaired to Teddy Ruxpin! Me and my mother both just went "Wow." We just sorta sit there and looked at all the stuff TJ did! I really cant comment on his durability yet as this is a XMas present, so I just hit the middle with that and left 3 stars, he feels about as durable as the TR bear and he still works after 20 years and MANY hours of reading and rough handling. TJ is on the heavy side, but no heavier than TR, actually, I would say they weigh about the same. I truly think my Grandaughter will LOVE TJ! I would not hesitate at the present to recommend this bear at ALL!

My 5-year-old daughter was thrilled to receive T.J. for her birthday 2 weeks ago. She took him to her pre-school so that T.J. could read a story to her classmates, and they all loved him, too. I don't know how he will hold up in the long-run. He seems kind of "wobbly", but that is probably due to the fact that he has to have a lot of range of motion for his animated movements. My daughter turns to T.J. when her older brother is too busy to play and her mom is busy with housework. I catch myself hearing T.J.'s voice and wondering, "who is that?" Then I realize it is Erica's new friend T.J., reading a story to her or singing a song with her, just as a good friend should.

LOVE THIS BEAR.SOFT,DURABLE,SO CUTE WITH THE MOVING HEAD,EARS,&ARMS.CUTE STORY, AND LIKE THAT YOU CAN PURCHASE MORE STORIES.THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT PRICE FOR SUCH A NICE PRODUCT.I GOT IT FOR MY 10 MONTH OLD GRANDDAUGHTER FOR CHRISTMAS. THE SMILES AND EXPRESSIONS ON MY GRANDDAUGHTERS FACE AS SHE LISTENED TO HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME WERE PRICLESS AND MADE MY DAUGHTER CRY AS SHE WATCHED HER. THAT SAYS IT ALL.

I bought this for my grandson for Christmas. He is 2 1/2. He was mesmerized all day. He kept pushing the button over and over so he could hear the story. By the end of the day he was holding the book and trying to read a long. I was very impressed and would recommend T.J. Bearytales to any one who would like to introduce a child to the magical world of reading.

It does everything it says. My grandson loves it, cant stop playing with it!!!

He works great! My daughter loves the bear, and loves to listen to him talk. She will be eight this February. I hope to get more books for TJ to read to her. I received the previously loved bear in good packaging, and good condition. I did have to purchase a book and cartridge separately.
