Cracking the New SAT Premium Edition with 6 Practice Tests, 2016: Created for the Redesigned 2016 Exam (College Test Preparation)

This is a fantastic book and a great product for anyone looking to study for the new SAT. The book clearly shows the differences between the new and old versions of the SAT and does a great job of walking through the problems. I have only finished half of the book as of now and I can truly say that this book has been very useful to me thus far. I teach SAT classes and use a lot of the materials found in this book. The book supplies great tips and tricks to scoring higher on the SAT. I do want to warn that the book has some tips that only pertain to students scoring on the low to medium end and not the students scoring frequently above 650 points per category. With that being said, the tactics outlined in this book do a great job of helping students with the types of questions for the SAT. The book makes a note to go though all different types of questions and how to solve each unique question type through a step by step process. The book does a fantastic job of walking the reader through each scenario and contains 6 practice tests (huge amount). This will most likely be the only book that anyone will every need to prepare for the SAT. The examples have answers that go in depth on why a particular answer is right and outlines why each individual other answer is incorrect. The book is pretty thick and contains very valuable information.

I'm a tutor, this book was great for the exercises previous to the tests. Nonetheless, the tests are more difficult than College Board Tests. Also, the reading section has a different layout, the passages do not follow the same order as College Board Tests (Literature, Social Science, Science, History, and Science). Moreover, there are some questions in the Language Section that do not appear in College Board Tests (least acceptable questions, these are ACT questions not SAT). Overall is a good book and I absolutely recommend it given that College Board only published 4 practice tests, but there are some differences to keep in mind.

(Bad news) I sat down to work on the first practice (Math) test before distributing it to my students, and in the first 12 questions I encountered 4 questions whose wording I believed to be either incorrect or terribly confusing.(Good news) I wrote to the editorial board (Email was given freely over the phone) and within 24 hours got a thoughtful response. Corrections to the questions that concerned me were posted on a correction sheet, which is available "on the Student Tools for students to access when they register their book online." This is a rare degree of responsiveness in my experience.I appreciate the responsiveness, but am still concerned about the high error rate that I discovered. (I'm also concerned about the complexity of the questions -- one has 107 words in only three sentences -- but that seems consistent with the little I know about the forces drivinging new SAT (and PARCC))

Only thing that will be cracking would be your self confidence.If you want to prepare SAT to get a good score STAY AWAY FROM THIS BOOK. The authors have given examples that are not anyway close to real question by College board. This will discourage students to prepare for SAT. The links are horrible. They do not work.I would recommend going to Khan Academy and practice the tests by college board. Which are from actual SAT and are FREE.Many of the math solution offered by the book are much harder than common sense approach. The book makes even simple question harder. I am not a student but a grand father trying to help my grand daughter with SAT (and I am retired chief of surgery) and I can tell you that this book is much more harmful to the preparing for SAT that helpful.Many of the math questions take about a minute to read and understand and student won't have any time to respond to it.Do not waste your time and money. I spent 25 dollars yesterday night and am done with this piece of garbageWish there was "satisfaction guaranteed or money back.

No sample essay is provided for each practice exam!! After finish working with this book, I was only able to find two sample essays used for writing section. Bad...This is not a good option if you want to get some essay practice.What's more, if you supposed that the 6 practice exams are valuable and exclusive, chances are you are WRONG! In addition to using this book, I studied for SAT in Khan Academy. After completing practice exams in the book, I turned to those in Khan Academy, only to find the first test I did was exactly the same as somewhere I got in this book! Since I could not open other exams in Khan Academy without completing the previous section, I could not make promise that all those tests are the same. However, it is likely this way.

Rebook for my daughter

I agree with a previous comment by a reviewer particularly over test questions 24 and 27 on test 3 section 4. Answer 24 is wrong for reasons stated and 27 contains a thought process that is way too complex for the time assigned to these questions. Its not enough to know pythagorem theory.

The problems in this book are much more aligned to the new SAT as compared to the "500+ Practice Questions for the new SAT" from the same publisher. However, the book lacks proper treatment on some of the new topics introduced in the SAT (for example margin of error, confidence level, etc). That portion is best handled with excellent examples in the SAT Official Guide. Overall, this book is great for practice.

Amazing book! A must have book for every test taker. I feel like I have wasted a lot of money in buying other books! This one book and khan academy are more than enough o crack the sat! It has got everything you need to know about the sat. it has example models of possibly all the questions.

Buy this if you never owned Barron's for they both suggest conflicting strategies. The online resources are the plus point of it ,but it does not provide you with word list and much needed help with new essay( Barron's does ).

This textbook is in very bad condition and is fully solved inside it has various scratches and missing pages
