Great product for Working at Home on the phone
This phone is just great. The noise cancelling microphone works wonders, the headset is comfortable to wear for hours, the sound is almost perfect, the buttons are big and easy to read. All around great phone, that also takes up little space on my desk. There is a very low hum if the volume for the headset is turned up, but I barely notice it. I have that hum with any phone on a land-line. I'm a work at home mom, and when I get calls the customers can hear me perfectly and if they are a little quiet all I do is roll the volume up a little and it's perfect.Best money I've spent yet. I recomment it to anyone spending a lot of time on the phone who might need to block out noises and have it be comfortable. Absolutely love it!!The phone just attaches right to the phone line, no additional equipment needed. That was a big bonus for me, I didn't want to have to purchase an additional item to be able to hook this up to my phone jack. It comes with all the cords and everything needed. It also lights up when it rings, so I can have the ringer down very low. Which is a bonus if I'm working in the middle of the night, I wont wake anyone up!

Works Perfectly So Far!
I was initially apprehensive about purchasing this phone after reading so many negative reviews. One reviewer suggested the Plantronics S12 Corded Telephone Headset System as a viable alternative and it had less negative reviews. Consequently, I purchased the S12 and, after assembling according to its instructions, tried it out. I was utterly disappointed. While speaking through the headset's microphone, there was an unbearable distortion on my voice which was audible on the other end. I exhausted every troubleshooting measure I could (including trying the handset of my telephone with the base of S12 instead of the headset and getting the same distortion) to no avail. However, I could hear everyone else fine through the headset's speaker. I could have ordered a replacement as it may have been a defective unit but I wanted to pursue a different course of action.Subsequently, I returned the S12 and ordered the T10 and couldn't be more satisfied. It came with longer telephone and headset cords and worked perfectly following the quick and easy setup! The sound is as clear as a bell on both ends and the headset is comfortable so far. I haven't experienced any humming or buzzing on the line as others have mentioned. I've only owned it for two days so I can't attest to its durability, however, I will post an update here once I've spent some time with it. So far so good!I would definitely recommend this product although I suspect some of the negative reviews may be from defective units or inconsistencies in the quality of or its compatibility with some phone lines.

Misrated Item
This item is getting the worst kind of reviews for no good reason. I purchased the Plantronics S12 series thinking it was better because of the ratings on this device and it did not work for me PLUS you have to have a different phone to plug it in to.That said, here are the REAL pros and consPROS:- It actually works.- It is the phone base, no need to plug anything else into it unless you just want a replacement headset.- I love that its small and compact.- People have complained about the "MUTE" and "ON/OFF" switch being close to each other... they are large buttons and I have not missed either button yet. I'm sure it may happen one day but for the most part, it does not effect me at all.- Other complaints about this item have been the HUMMING noise or low BUZZING noise. That is due to the "Noise canceling technology". If you have ever worn a headset, you know this noise and you are most likely use to it. Any other noises I have not experienced and have not had a problem even when trying to find the best station. (Tuning is on the right side)- Yet another complaint: popping and loud static. If you keep your cellphone close to the unit, this is possible because of the different radio waves clashing. I have not experienced this issue either and I am always texting while I'm working.. Just figured I'd throw that out there too.- The cord is long enough to stand up and walk around my office. Plus the phone cord that comes with the device is easily 20ft or longer.CONS:-The one sided ear attachment that comes with the device isn't very useful since it doesn't allow for the little padded overlay to attach on with it. I might find something else or play with it to where its more comfortable but I also have big ears so whatever. Lol.- The stand to lay the headset on when not in use falls off and did not slide in to place. I had to force it into place and it still falls off. I also like to pick up the unit while I'm dialing so if you don't pick it up like I do to dial with both hands, its probably fine for you.I don't know why this item has so many bad reviews. Obviously, even my cons are not a huge problem. I am the type of person to read all of the reviews before I buy something. Its clear that either people don't do research or just get frustrated with not knowing how to use something and just give bad reviews. I wish I had bought this unit first. It would have been easier, cheaper and way less head aches. The S12 series isn't even compatible with all phones. I tried two of them... still didn't work.I know its a really full review, but I wanted to be clear. A lot of these reviews are old and graded harshly for no good reason. I hope this helps someone. I really do.

In a word... poor!
In a word... poor!Poor quality... it feels cheap and nasty, very lightweight plasticy base, not at all what you'd expect from a fairly expensive Plantronics unit (my other much older Plantronics units are rock solid and well constructed).Poor design... the rake is too steep, so it's more difficult I find to dial accurately than a regular phone handset, it's hard(er) to see the numerals clearly, and pressing top row buttons tends to tilt the unit over backwards.Poor keyboard... cheapest/nastiest feeling keyboard more at home on a Christmas cracker toy.Pool volume/tone control wheels... flimsy and the edges aren't knurled, so you can't even tell if you're rotating them.headset... ok if you like fake (plastic) 'pleather' ear cushions - I don't! Again, fortunately I have some sponge ear cushions which are way nicer, and silent unlike the crinkly pleather one supplied. To cap it all, the unit I received is completely dead, and doesn't light up or work on any phone line I've tested it on. Shipped from the USA too (even though I purchased it in the UK as a UK phone), and it doesn't have a UK BS6312 phone lead (fortunately I have spares).Returned for refund straight away. Not sure I'll ever buy anything Plantronics again, given the poor quality of this example.

Telephone makes my life easier
It's a great telephone for anyone who needs "hands free" while on the telephone. It's a great tool for anyone who works on the computer while talking to someone. The headset is light and the volume control feature is great for someone who is hard of hearing - like me....I wear hearing aids and the receiver is compatible and is comfortable to wear.I only wish the unit was wireless so that I could also walk from room to room with it.

perfect for call center\work from home
I was transferred from the office to work from home at my call center job. It does the trick, no noise, no complaints. Overall a great phone.

So Far, So Good
I just started working as a home-based call center agent. After just over one week usage, I would recommend it for its ease of use and functionality. Just plug the phone into the telephone socket and you are good to go. No need to find compatible parts or buy the phone and headset separately. It takes minimal space on your desk and the on/off and mute buttons are conveniently located. The on/off and mute buttons also light up. I know when I'm on mute which is crucial. The sound quality could be better, but for the price, it works. A few customers I help say they have a hard time hearing me, but I can adjust the headset and then it's fine most of the time. I don't have much trouble hearing others though. I would give a 5th star if the sound quality was better, but overall, it will do.
