My new go-to energy snack
Might never use a gel again. For Chattajack 2018 (31 mile SUP race) I loaded myself up with these, gels, and plenty of water. I'm used to gels but only to the point of tolerating them. It's not the taste that bugs me so much as the texture and I find myself dreading each pack. Early on in the race I tried my first Clif Bloks and I never touched the gels from there on. I can't really say which flavor I preferred because I'd opened a few packs, tossed them into a Ziploc together beforehand, and just grabbed two at random each time. They all tasted great to me and helped keep me moving.

So far so good.
I'm a runner and I find energy gels disgusting. I can't tolerate squeezing that texture into my mouth. I bought these for my half and full marathons, and I prefer the gummy candy texture and find it a million times easier to take than a gel. When racing, I will keep the pack open and will eat one of these blocks right before each water station, starting around the 6 mile mark of the race (then grab a cup of water to wash it down.) They seem to do the trick. No cramping or electrolyte issues. Of course you need to figure out what works best for you, but for me these are fine and I'll keep using them as long as I'm still distance running. I haven't tried all the flavors, but so far orange is my favorite.

I love these. I swim competitively
Holy smakeroos, I love these. I swim competitively, (everyday practice) and I was noticing a bit of tiredness creep in on long swims. (2500 yds) now, I pop one of these delicious babies in my mouth, and feel so much better. More energized. Less tingling. The only thing is, you have to completely chew them up, and not swim until swallowed. It's hard breathing with bits of Shot Bloks in your mouth, and then gulping chlorine water. Enjoy!

Yummy energy booster
My weekly activities vary from running to weight lifting to hiking to HIIT cardio and some others in between, and I was looking for something to give me a little energy boost without upsetting my stomach like solid food does. These gummies do just that AND taste good. I'm not a long distance runner so I can't speak to using these mid-run, but chewing one or two before my 4-6 mile runs or other cardio activities have helped in terms of energy. Eating one before lifting weights (usually about an hour long session) seems to do the trick. There are 6 to each pack and they're easy to get out. They're super chewy, think soft gummy bear consistency. So far I've tried the Mountain Berry, Tropical Punch and Citrus which are all delish. I didn't notice much of a difference with the caffeine in the Tropical flavor, but I only ate two at a time so perhaps eating a whole pack in one go it would be more noticeable. Even eating half a banana or plain oatmeal 30 mins. to an hour in advance made my stomach uncomfortable, but these chews don't bother me at all. My only minor complaint is little pieces tend to stick between my teeth. Overall, I am pretty happy with these chews and will buy them again.

great for my long runs
I really like having these available on my long runs and will definitely be buying these again.*Easy to get out of package, and save the rest (so if you don't use them all on a run, no big deal to just save the rest for next time)*No mess (I like Gu's gel packs, but I was picking up after fellow runners at my first marathon and the open used packages were a sticky mess!)*Lots of flavor variety (I think I like the margarita ones the best as they are sweet but still have some much needed salt, but I think they are all generally good flavors)*Good flavors but not too sweet*They don't leave me extra thirsty after consuming one (which can be a problem if you're only carrying so much water)

Easy and tasty, does the trick on long runs and rides
These are a great way to mix up the standard gels, but contain all the same stuff. Each sleeve is 200 calories and six of the cubes, so it's also nice to be able to put down only part of a serving and then keep moving. The package is easy to open and they slide out alright, although if I'm carrying a water bottle sometimes I need to tuck it under my arm and use two hands to get to these. That said I do like that I can fold it back on itself and tuck the uneaten cubes back into my pocket without worrying it'll turn into a sticky mess. Routinely run with these in 90deg F weather and never had them melt.A variety pack includes some with caffeine, some without, and some with 2x-3x sodium of others. If you are particular about this probably better to find and buy all of one flavor. It's a good mix though and I usually just plan accordingly and take the ones that I know will be the most functional for that day.

Great selection of race fuel. Love the variety.
This is the first set of exercise 'fuel' that I have purchased having never really thought I needed it before. Then I had a moment after a 50 mile ride where I just ran out of juice. My vision closed in and muscles just stopped working. I had never experienced anything like that before, a horrible feeling and quite scary. I put a bit of research in and came up with a couple of options I liked, these being one. What's good about these is that they are individual chews as opposed to gel sachets. This means that you can easily take as much or as little as you want whereas once you pop open a gel pack you kind of have to eat it all unless you want to risk a gooey pocket. As with all these sorts of 'on the road fuel' you really need to take them with water. They are very very sweet and need to be washed down with plain old water in order to wash away the potentially sickly aftertaste, and enable your body to absorb everything. The one thing I prefer with the gel sachets is that you don't have to chew anything. Sometimes chewing the Bloks can lead to chunks getting stuck to your teeth. It's a little annoying for me but not a dealbreaker. The variety is great for keeping things a bit interesting from ride to ride and I like the fact that some have caffeine added to give a little extra boost.
