Love this game
This is an amazing game, I have been playing it for almost a week and I love it. Everything about it is great, the detective work, the storylines, the gunplay. If you're looking for a game purely based on shooting you might not want it. It has a perfect amount of shootouts, foot chases, and car chases. The actual detective work is good, it's very fun/realistic to do and it is well balanced. It's not mind-numbingly easy but you don't have to be a mastermind for it either, the clues add up and you'll find yourself working out what's going on.Would very much recommend anyone to get this game, when I first considered it I wasn't planning to but I am seriously glad I did now.

rip off - unstable
Words cannot describe the cheated feeling I have about this game. This was bought last year for a Christmas present when it was around £30 - it wouldn't play after a while so it was £30 plus wasted. If you take a look on the forums before buying you will find many like myself who ran into problems trying to play this game.If you want your money back - too bad you can't, Rockstar doesn't do refunds, but their customer service will give you many auto responses before you find that out. I usually like Rockstar games but this one was a con. It is a poorly made game by Bondi (do a goolge search on them to find out what went on in the making of LA NOIRE). A lot of people run into problems trying to install the game. For me I had no problems installing. However the computer used to run this game has all the requirements but it played like it didn't meet the requirements - very, very slowly.. why? Who knows, one of the many problems you could encounter with this game.About the game play itself - given that the game ran slowly on my computer, the game play was painfully boring. However this game is made up of cut scenes, so there's very little 'game play' as such more you moving the character around. I found this element alright but a bit boring, nowhere near the level of open ended GTA. Also the main character is Cole Phelps. He's a straight laced dull guy I started to find dislikeable to play. But the town looks amazing, just you have to look at it, you can't enter any buildings, you just have the cases to play.I got stuck at the The Red lipstick Murder, it's the first case of the homicide desk (first case on level 2 -there's about 4 levels). There are many glitches with some cases, but I couldn't find any help on the web for the case my game stuck at.Without giving too much away about the case, Phelps visits to the victims house, was supposed to pick up clues - an address to another location, and exit the house being able to approach the next door neighbour. But in the game I played over and over again I could never get the location address for the next 'step' in the case, so was stuck with nothing to do. Even though I tried, this is a glitch I couldn't find a way around by replying the scene - or the whole game again. So was stuck. It's not the only bug out there - there are other cases later in the game that have bugs on them that don't allow you to progress. There's no cheat to skip cases, or levels. There's nothing you can do if you can't progress to the next 'scene'.It's a completely linear game play which has bugs and glitches that stop you from moving forward so stop you from playing.Since being well and truly stuck I uninstalled the game and got rid of it. If you didn't encounter problems playing this game, lucky you. If you where able to work around problems you encountered, good for you. If you like many of the forums and listed under 'help' sections' found you just couldn't play this game, join the club. If you're thinking of buying the game, think about buying a different game. Or maybe try it on xbox or ps - it seems to have less glichtes.

A brilliant story line and concept delivered in a rubbish game
This is by far Rockstars (makers of the Grand Theft Auto series) worst game on PC. It is insulting how shoddy this game is; it is so rough around the edges that it feels like it is in Alpha stage of development with ridiculous pop-in and other graphical glitches such as MASSIVE lag when you walk. This is not my computer as I can run Assassins Creed Black Flag, which is a newer game, absolutely fine. I really try to get along with this game but I cannot. The epic story line and awesome game play concepts and let down by a shoddy console port over to the PC. If you have to get this game despite what me and every other person as told you please install it on you C:/ drive as if you install it on any other drive it will not work. I just hope that if they bring Grand Theft Auto V over to the PC they don't skimp on it like they did to this game.

So frustrating!
Okay so first of all my laptop met all the requirements and i've had it less than a year so i didn't think i would have the problems that other people had. I had to uninstall it and reinstall it three times, and after hours of following advice from the rockstar help page i got it working. Then playing the game was so slow it was impossible to play. i followed some more instructions and it is a lot better but now and then it does slow down a bit.I love this game, it's amazing and as far as i know there's nothing like it. It was just the installing and it being slow that i didn't like. So i would recommend getting it for ps3 or xbox not computer if you can as they seem to have no problems and to be honest i think the graphics are much better. But if like me you can only get it for laptop be prepared to take a while getting it up and running, and follow advice on the forums, they do work. Good luck!

Decent budget game for windows 8, once you get it running
Not a game I would buy at full price, but now it has come down to budget price, its a decent game to get, with two big caveatsFirstly, it doesn't work at all out of the box on windows 8. Even if you follow the support instructions on the Rockstar support page, it still won't work. The two things you have to do as well as the Rockstar support instructions is (1) turn off your antivirus during the install, and (2) make sure the install path has no spaces in it *at all*. You have to select 'custom install' and set the install path manually, making sure you don't install it into a 'L.A Noire' folder as per the standard install, and neither do you want 'My Games' or anything similar in the path.Secondly, L.A Noire is story lead rather than an interactive game. That makes it quite linear and not as open ended as some other sandbox games. You do missions in order, and don't have things like concurrent missions nor side quests going on. If you are fine with that, then its a great game. Just don't expect a 1940's themed Skyrim! On my Windows 8 machine it works well with everything maxed out, and at WQHD (my NVidia 770GTX can make 4k, but only if I drop a few settings, but I prefer full-on graphics at less than 4k). I don't have stutter or other graphics issues. So overall, not a free world sandbox, but a strong story led interactive experience. Some people may say that is not their definition of a game in 2015, but each to their own! I quite like it: it brings a welcome slower pace after a few hours on Battlefield multiplayer!

Awesome game!!!
Awesome game. I have read that there have been some problems with launching it-which I did experience. My problem was due to the social club in set up. I manually loaded it without the social club and have since have no problems.Launches and plays well.
