You wouldn’t believe you could make rice that taste this good!
If you are serious about the taste of your rice, this is a worthwhile investment. I normally use an electrical rice cooker, which produces pretty good rice. The Kamadosan rice cooker, however, takes it to a whole other level. Each grain was distinct from each other, al dente-ish kind of chewiness, no mushed together grains. It tasted like rice from the high end sushi restaurants where they take their rice seriously. And if you cook it for slightly longer, the slight smokiness it imparts adds another dimension to the taste, not to mention crunchy mouthfeel. It is expensive but the final product is worth it! I love that it has an inner lid to prevent water from boiling over, a problem I have had with only outer lid clay pots. The only issue with having it shipped from Japan was the direction was all in Japanese. If not for the fact that I have enough experience cooking rice both in electrics cooker and clay pot, I might have been stuck as to how to use it. The shipper took great care in packaging it well to ensure everything arrived without damage.

Easy to use. Makes delicious fluffy rice but meager quantity
This pot was packed loosely but it survived its journey to my house. The pot I received was from the seller with a 100% rating and the pot I received was indeed 33 oz. This was enough to cook exactly two good servings of rice. It’s a quality thick pot with the texture of pumice. The rice cooked up fluffy and delicious and better than a fuzzy logic rice cooker. I didn’t think it tasted noticeable better, just more fluffier. So far I’ve cooked jasmine and medium short grain. I wasn’t wowed by the taste that some people commented on but I do appreciate the ease of cooking the rice with no boil overs. It cooks rice faster than my instant pot and much more fluffier. Most Asian rice cookers make good rice with ease and this pot takes it up a notch but the quantity of rice is meager and I think the hype about the phenomenal taste is overhyped.

Amazingly delicious white rice
This pot makes the most delicious white rice in the shortest amount of time that I've had, and I've eaten white rice growing up. With brown rice, it takes a bit more efforts, but with white rice, this makes incredible short grain rice, Japanese style. Meaning that the rice comes out fully cooked, each grain is well formed and chewy. They are sticky, but not gummy. Just perfect. Since it is cooked stove top, I have full control of how the rice is cooked. I just made red bean white rice, where I added a small amount of brown sugar. Not to make it sweet, but just to give it a bit of caramelization at the end and bottom of the pot. When I open the cover, it smelled heavenly! Hands down the best rice I've ever had. Highly recommended!

Don’t hesitate to try, cooks the best rice I ever made
I have been wanting to own a clay rice cooker for a while, but the price made kept me thinking because I didn’t know if it really worth it. Thanks for Amazon’s free return policy, it gained my confidence to try it, because if it doesn’t work out for me than Amazon will back me up. I am so glad that I tried it, it’s the best fluffy rice I ever made. It says 3 cups but it will overflow if I do 3 cups. 2 cups of rice is fine for us now, but when my daughter growing up I think we need to upgrade to a bigger pot. I really wished it’s the 3 cups size pot as they stated. I hope there’s 4.5 star choice.

DOA
It seemed like the only bad review for this was that most people received it and it was cracked. I figured I'd take a chance but boy was I surprised when I opened the box. It's supposed to be a three piece set and it was delivered as a 30 piece set. I've already asked for a replacement, we'll see if the next one arrives in any better condition.UPDATE - Yup, got my second pot (replacement) and it was in more pieces than the first. I waited to return the first one hoping that if the second pot arrived okay but the lids were broke, I could take the good lids from the first delivery and use on the second delivered pot. Oh well. Good luck to anyone who orders this pot.

Here come dat boi
Bruh story ville. This boi cooks rice. One day a boi was walking down the street and just picked up dunkin and was like yo my rice last night was sub par. Uphold standards. Ya boi checked the internet and found the donabes. Checked the price and was like ooph boi I'm in tho. Worked it off overtime, came home and cooked the rice. Content. Was looking for something that could cook the rice like a boss but also without a non-stick chemical surface. This lil' boi delivered. It's 2 gou boi, so just enough for one boi and his boi. Cooking regimen. 2 gou and then ~2 cups (us) water. 14:40 on medium, should start piping at 3 minutes to finish. 21 minutes standing. Even better if rice presoaked.

Beautiful pot! Received it today in perfect condition...was a little worried that I might receive a cracked pot since there have been shipping issues. No worries here...just to be clear, I received the Nagatanien-en Kamado-San 2-gou rice pot. Haven’t tried it yet, but My friend has this same pot and her rice always comes out perfect. She loves her pot!I purchased mine from UJC Mart Japan...fast shipping too! Highly recommend this vendor if you decide to purchase one
