Great product!
I don't understand all the negative reviews of leakage, strength being temperamental, and noise level. After using machine for 3 months, I haven't experienced any of these negativities that others have written about. I use my waterpik 2 times daily every day and haven't experienced anything close to what others have complained of.IMHO, the Waterpik was the best investment in getting my oral health back on track in terms of really helping out my gum health. Since starting to use it 2x daily every day I have seen a real difference in the color of my gums turning from red and inflamed to more of a pink and healthy color, the bleeding has totally stopped, and gum sensitivity has steadily been decreasing. Even when I use regular string floss, I have noticed that there is less of a chance of bleeding, whereas before I would without a doubt always have bleeding that happened when flossing. After using this for the past 3 months, I have become almost addicted to the dentist-like clean feeling after each waterpik/brush session. After using both the waterpik and an electric toothbrush, I can walk away feeling almost as though I have just had a dental cleaning; it feels that much more clean than just brushing alone! It took me only a few times to start working up as to which power setting I wanted to use. After about 3 weeks I found myself using 4th power setting on a regular basis with no discomfort. I am starting to use 5th power setting on a more regular basis now, but not steadily. Hope to get to 5th power setting regularly in another week or 2.Machine is quieter than an older model I owned about 7 or 8 years ago, so they have made an improvement on quietness. I live in an older apartment complex where walls are thin and I haven't had any complaints from neighbors about me using the machine, so I wouldn't be too concerned about it being too loud for a small apartment bathroom such as mine that butts up next to your neighbors. Will give update after using it several more months to let you know if real problems start to appear.Overall, very happy with the machine and it's build quality overall! Would recommend to anyone looking to improve their oral health!

Good product! I'm addicted to this thing! Wish they would last longer before failing
Just switched to this unit after using the hand held battery operating unit for several years. At first, coming from the cordless battery operated unit I was used to not dealing with a hose and the bulkiness of the battery operated unit was nice for holding onto and directing the spray. But transitioning to the smaller "wand" hasn't been too difficult an adjustment. Especially considering the payoffs are many including not having to wait for batteries to charge (or forgetting to charge it), not refilling every 30 seconds and having multiple and more powerful settings to use. This unit can be messy with the small wand and high volume of water flow. But the pause button works as I would expect it to. Also, the cleaning I'm getting is worth being careful of making a mess. I generally have a large slop sink in my laundry room where its a perfect place to use my water pick. Hopefully this unit will last for years to come as my last battery operated unit lasted just over 2 years. Also, even though it lasted a 2 years sometimes it would get really finicky. Working fine one day and other days barely putting out pressure. Sometimes it even seemed like besides not having enough time to charge, it seemed like letting it charge too long was also not good. Just never quite knew how it would act on a given day? Having continuous power with this model should never be an issue again. As far as the noise is concerned it doesn't bother me. I'll trade noise for continuous and good power and a large water basin any day.EDIT 12/24/15.Unit started leaking from base 13 months after getting it. It was still operational. However, lost pressure and spraying water from base. I took the unit apart and made it so it wasn't leaking as bad (at least not spraying water from base anymore) and was still somewhat usable. Had less pressure and left a puddle after use. I went to Waterpiks website and submitted a warranty claim since unit has a 2 year warranty. Waterpik honored the warranty a couple days later and within a week and sent me a brand new WP-72 no questions asked and without returning the broken unit. Still very satisfied. This is probably my 5th/6th one I've had to replace is a decade.I love this thing and use frequently. After more than a decade of using Waterpik, there is no doubt about the benefits. I wish they would design them more for longevity. My latest one failed 3 years almost to the day (that's probably my longest run owning one of these). However, to be fair I'm a pretty heavy user (4-8 full fill-up runs per day). I had one fail at about 13 months and Waterpik warrantied it. Waterpik does state the lifespan is 12-24 months based upon usage, water quality, and if running anything besides water. I always only use city water (very occasionally well water). But, I am a heavy user so $50-$60 every couple years or so and I do get my money's worth. Not sure about longevity of other models? But, prior to exclusively choosing these units, I owned a couple hand helds that ran on battery and both of those failed at 2 years. So, I'd just say if you use a lot, don't expect a really long life. At least when they do break it is usually suddenly and they will run strong right up to the end.
