Meccano-Erector Junior Easy Toolbox, 6 Model Building Kit

The most wonderful toy I received as a child was my Erector set. Besides providing many, many hours of entertainment, it gave me the beginnings of what turned out to be life influencing lessons in designing and building things. I became a professional engineer and an accomplished woodworker. This set was bought for my precocious 5 year old grandson who shows more promise as a creator than even I did. I hope it will launch a constructive and not a destructive lifestyle. It is a beginner's set which I will gladly replace with something more challenging when the time is right.

this is a repeat order for the same kits as the first kits were very successful as part of a training/education task with our local schools.

Our ten grandchildren, ages 1-7, each got a turn staying with us during the summer. This was a special toy just for the boys and Grandpa, and they sure had lots of fun together building these! I love the versatility.

I gave this one 3 stars bcuz the directions for all the cars on the box are not included. I had to go to the website and print out like 25 pages. All the instructions should be included with the vehicle.

Arrived in tune brand new in box. 6 year old grandson loves it!

I was excited for this toy but it has been a disaster. The instruction pictures make it hard to know which 'black square' is which, to top it off the pieces fit very snuggly which is nice for keeping the models together but if you slide one of the pieces in the wrong way it is forever broken and this means that some of the pieces will fall off because they cannot be held on by the broken fastener. This is just one complaint about this system, my 6 year old couldn't attempt the instructions on his own and it was a challenge to decipher the pictures for adults. Maybe if they had had pictures that showed the orientation of the little pieces?? Then I would have a set he could learn with instead of a bunch of pieces that can no longer be connected.

Was completely maddening when I realized the directions only show three versions. Meccano wants you to go online for the rest...Im sure to get you to buy more stuff or to get your email address. Very disappointing considering how much this cost. I would return it for this reason but cant take it away from a 5 year old now. Last one I will buy though.

Problemi riscontrati: i dentini dei dadi ad incastro dopo due/tre utiliizzi si rompono e non si possono più utilizzare.Gli stessi dadi, una volta montati, non garantiscono una tenuta a dovere, si spostano e le ruote toccano gli tessi dadi: il modelllo quando viene lanciato si blocca.

Looked good, the child enjoyed playing with the Meccano.
