Meccano-Erector Junior Advanced Toolbox, 8 Model Building Kit

I grew up with an erector set so I was looking for one for my grandson. This is a plastic set that is probably easier and safer than the old metal ones. The plastic tools and little hands are not the best for getting bolts tight so parts will loosen up. An adult or a metal wrench can help the problem. Like Kennex, some model designs are provided and some must be found on the internet.

The erector set itself is good. The container latch is not well made and will probably break soon, it should be redesigned. Overall my grandson reallly likes it.

I remember Meccano from when I was a child and was excited to share this product with my grandchild. I worked with him to create the first item, a crane, and was disappointed to find that some of the attaching pieces kept falling off. The front wheels needed more than just a c449 and the B031 was useless. The work box that the pieces came in was useful and charming and the plastic materials were strong and flexible. The instructions are clear. All in all, this was acceptable but adaptations had to be made to get around the problem attachments.

Gave this to our Grandson for his 5th birthday last year. He loves it. We spent 5 hours putting together one vehicle after another on the first day. He still spends a lot of time playing with it, so much that his Dad has now created a special area for him to work on his creations while his little sisters are napping. The short screws can be a little frustrating. Meccano should consider including 2 different lengths of screw in these sets, the current length and a longer one. Accessory sets would be a good idea too, extra screws, additional beams, etc.

I bought this for my 5 year old grandson. He needs help to build the vehicles but it's a fun project for mom and son. However, the bolts provided in the toy do not stay tight. So if the kids want to play with their creation, they can't because it falls apart. This would be a very nice toy if it held together after assembly.

Nice junior Meccano set made of plastic. Could make some of the pieces match up with older metal type. It does not have a huge amount of pieces but you can make more than one model with the set. One rivet on the box lid was missing when it arrived from Amazon for a Christmas present so had to fasten it with some string to make it open and close. That was a disappointment. But otherwise it is a fair toy for a young explorer.

I bought this for my 4yr old. He likes the toolbox it comes with, and he loves building things. I think it's cheaply made for the price you pay, and the screws don't stay tight. After taking the time to build one he is constantly asking me to fix falling off pieces. Also the moving parts fall apart almost immediately. I thought he would be too young for the metal set, but it may be worth it just so he can enjoy a project when it's done. Disappointed mom.

My 5 year old son just assembled his first model from this set with minimal help! He absolutely loves it! He has excelled at legos in the past but got bored with just clicking pieces into place to build just one thing per set so being able to pick which model he wanted to build, using tools, and knowing that he can take it apart and build something else has him just completely in love with this set!

Brought for grandsons birthday. He has spent many hours playing with this. Has been a very good buy. Well worth the money. Other sets will be brought for him. Easy to follow instructions or use own ideas to build.

En general muy bien pero para poder armar todos los modelos que se ven hay que descargar un manual desde la página web del fabricante. En el manual incluido solo vienen 3 figuras.
