Works great at a cheap price!
Works great, has a whine when engine is running but so far hasn’t affected performance of the alternator. Time will tell and hopefully it’s just fan inside the housing blowing wind over armature to keep it cool. Lights are much brighter now also.

Good Replacement for OEM Alternator
This Alternator was a perfect fit for my 1999 4Runner Limited V6. It was a simple installation, but I have been turning wrenches a long time. It was a perfect replacement for ghe OEM Alternator that lasted 22 years. It was cheaper than local auto parts stores. It is new and not a rebuild. If I get another 100,000 miles from this one, I will be satisfied. Considered replacing belt, but replaced it a few years back and it was still good. Best of luck to you.

*BEWARE GARBAGE *
Had to buy real one from dealership, wish i hadn't wasted money on this one ! ( You Will Too ) Alternator Started Acting up IMMEDIATELY ! AMPERAGE Gauge up and down, lights flickering , Can't Run Any Two Things Together AC, RADIO Or LIGHTS!! And Don't Even Think About Switching On Your Bright Lights. MY FAILING DENSO WORKS BETTER... But I had to make do, until i could buy a real working one. VERY UNSATISFIED, YOU WILL BE ALSO.

Replaced my OEM alternator
I bought this to replace my 2000 Toyota 4Runner's OEM alternator that went bad, and it worked perfectly. No problems except for pushing the bushing out of the way to slide the new alternator in place.

Not as expected, but still worth the money.
According to Amazon, this does not fit my truck. However, through alternate research, I found that every Toyota 3.4L in the Tacoma, Tundra, and 4runner of this generation use the exact same frame alternator and wiring connections. As you can see from the photos, all important characteristics are identical to my '97 Taco's stock alternator (even down to the wire harness connection point on the heat shield). I'm only giving it 4 stars because even at driving rpm it does not put out 180A, but it does put out considerably more than the stock alternator did. Having converted my Taco to electric cooling fans, I had no choice but to increase the amperage supply, but it would've cost nearly 5x as much as this one to get one that guarantees 160A at driving rpm. This brought me back into the 13.5V range at driving rpm with the fans running from 12.3V with the stock alternator. Well worth the price tag.

Fits like OEM!
Fits like a OEM part on 2001 4runner SR5.I was able to get it done in a hour by following some videos online. No issue no abnormal noise 👍.Update 4/2020:After couple of months, a very low whining noise came back again. Not sure what happened? Life is hectic these days with COVID-19 pandemic, I have no time to check my car... will wait and see...
