I have installed 4 of these spring hatch supports to replace the failing cabinet door supports in my Class B motorhome’s cabinets. The previous supports used friction to hold the cabinet doors in place, required periodic tightening, and eventually could not be tightened enough to hold the doors up. These spring hatch supports are a little longer, but they were easy to install, and they work just fine.The only reason I downgraded them to 4 stars is that the hardware is disappointingly light weight. It’s probably adequate, but it’s not very impressively sturdy.

I am replacing the original spring struts on my lazarette lids. These appear well made and are exact replacements for the originals except the mounting holes on one end are aobut 1/8" further apart than the originals. This left me with the choice of drilling new holes in my hatch lids (ugly, hassle to fix the fiberglass) or attempt to drill new hole right next to existing hole in the mis-made bracket. I chose the latter approach, clamped them in a machinist's vice, used a good punch and a titanium bit (don't have a drill press so had to do with a hand drill), had no trouble making the new holes.

Came promptly. Was just what I needed. Not exactly like 22 yr old part it was replacing. Had to drill a couple of new holes in the plastic.

I bought this to replace the door "locks' on my Class B RV overhead cabinets and so far they are stellar. Pretty easy to install.

Re bought this first one only later a year

Simple and easy to use and install.

It works really well for holding open and then closing overhead cabinets in our RV.
