Delicious!
This is a nostalgic taste for me, but very good for all those who love breadsticks. It has a slight sweetness, but has no oil, so it won't go stale like breadsticks. My daughter who never had tasted them, loves kanpan. I only wish someone will import them. It becomes a habit. It is expensive because it had to be shipped to us, but was worth it.

Panpakapaan!
I made a pretty authentic Japanese WWII ration with these, and they were so good. They have a surprisingly complex flavor that is quite mild. Once you start eating them you can't stop.

A fantastic cracker. These things last forever due in part ...
I never bought these from amazon but I have some stories that sell them locally here.A fantastic cracker. These things last forever due in part to them having their origins as military hard tacks. They have a nice crunchy texture, they are fairly hard but most people shouldn't have trouble eating them. I would say if you can eat a nature valley honey and oats granola bar these things will be fine for you. They have a very slightly sweet and hearty flavor with a hint of black sesame. They would go very well with soups, and salads and are great snacks being only 10 calories per cracker. They are great emergency food. Before buying from amazon I would recommend checking to see if you have any local Japanese markets. There are also canned versions specifically for emergency food. These last even longer than the packaged version but are smaller and more expensive.
