A Charming and Loving Book
Ceil has done something really special and in some ways long overdue, although this sort of collection of memories can almost come at any time (at least while those who knew Peter well are still with us), but this little jewel essentially keeps that possibility alive. Indeed that's another part of it's charm. The book is a collection of pieces written by many different authors who knew Peter Tosh during his musical career. Most significantly, most of it is not about his songs or his albums, but are memories of Peter himself. And from all indications, Peter was a very fascinating and multifaceted person, but perhaps might be best summarized as a character. Extremely bright, his friends and colleagues unanimously remember him as a comedian, as well as a gifted musician and songwriter. Bunny Wailer described him to me as "a true artist--really in every sense." That is the person who is reflected, and is brought into your life in this book. How different from the purportedly angry, scowling, revolutionary time bomb portrayed in the media at the time! The fact is that just as Peter Tosh wrote songs and had a voice that mesmerized us when he was with us, and still amaze us, but his intellect, wit and magnetism also still remain with people 26+ years after his horrific death. That is a powerful testament, and many thank to Ceil for collecting and then delivering them to us. For that, let Jah be praised!

A First Class Work!
Clearly a work of considerable effort. Ms. Tulloch managed to touch base with a great many people in the know, that is, people who knew and loved the real Peter Tosh. Her hard work has given the world a record of the life of a brilliant musician who is quite famous in reggae circles, but should be much better known world wide. Her book is a collection of first person essays by those who knew him best. And though he is gone, Ms. Tulloch's book goes a long way to showing a new generation of music lovers what this fascinating man was all about. Highly recommended!

The author put much effort in presenting an accurate account
Preserving the artistic legacy of Peter Tosh was important to Ceil Tulloch, who investigated and then persuaded a number of influential people who knew him to contribute reminisces, verbal and pictorial, to enhance her goal. She and they succeeded admirably and helped me, not previously aware of Tosh's integral part in Jamaica's musical/cultural history, to appreciate both.

Remember The Prophet of Reggae - The Steppin' Razor Peter Tosh
I truly enjoyed this book. I definitely thank the author for writing this book. The Late Great Peter Tosh one of Reggae Music Greatest Voices of All Time. However, Peter Tosh's legacy is often overlooked. Peter Tosh was a man of the people. He was the voice of the Poor, Oppressed and Downtrodden. He wasn't afraid To Get Up and Stand Up. Prolific and Gifted Songwriter, Musician and Activist. The Man who stood up against the Evil's of the System through his music.Great to hear from those who worked and knew Peter well. Peter is often portrayed negatively not really giving much people the opportunity to really get to know the real Peter and his music. This book does just the opposite. It draws you into his legacy and his music and leaves you wanting more of Peter Tosh. I highly recommend this book for both Old and New Peter Tosh Fans. If you were ever unsure about Peter Tosh, after reading this book you'll change your mind. You'll fall in love with The "REAL" Peter Tosh not the Peter Tosh that the media portrays.

Little effort
Little effort put into this to what could be... It seems they can't capture The living Peter Tosh in a book...

One Step Closer to Overstanding Peter Tosh
Ceil Tulloch (un)covers some new ground in the Peter Tosh story. This compilation of writings by those who knew Peter Tosh sheds some needed light on the many sides of Peter that are not commonly known. These warm remembrances defy the portraits painted by music writers and those in the media through the years--portraits that have never been all that flattering.Contrary to the negative opinions projected onto Peter, these short pieces are written by people who knew him behind the scenes and speak to his endearing traits. Housed in the obligatory red, gold, and green motif, Remembering Peter Tosh carries the Tosh Torch several steps forward as his public veneer is peeled back for a more personal overstanding of who this man was. Rare photos round out the appeal...

Great Insight into who Peter Tosh was
If you are seeking to gain an insight into Peter Tosh, the man, the great musician, the revolutionary, his benevolence, what drives him and many other aspects of his existence on earth, you need to read this book. It makes a compelling read, once I started to read i could not put it down. The contributions by various individuals who knew Peter well adds to the authenticity of the book. I ended up feeling as if I knew him and what I learnt about Peter made me love and appreciate him even more. RIP Peter your spirit lives on.

An excellent book
This is a book I would recommend to all lovers of reggae. It chronicles the life of the great legend: Peter Tosh and talks about his love of people, animals and life in general. His sense of humour was infectious and he was a great guy to live with. His only son was that he preached freedom, justice and equality rights in a society where these virtues were scarce; and was cut down in his prime. Adieu Bush Doctor! You will always be in our hearts.
