Wish I bought it earlier
The Smoke Eraser works great. By eliminating the smoke, it also eliminates the smell that would attach to you from the smoke. Great buy.

About this new V5
The media could not be loaded. I read these reviews and even these directions and instructions. Explanations, etc, and honestly, it all seems like overkill. It's not that complicated. First off, the product is awesome. How he is able to keep making it better, is a trip. But he has. Anyway, point is it's way simpler than all these explanations. What you have got here is a way smaller Smoke Buddy you can dry. What's that mean? It lasts longer. Way longer. Keep it dry, and it lasts forever. Basically. And that's it. All the extra stuff is just ways to keep it dry. Or to dry it after it's gotten wet. It's all common sense too as to how it works or how to use it, etc. You just use the tools and things it has to keep it dry. Let it ventilate. Lid off. When that's not enough, use the fan to help. The dock that comes with it. It's a simple fan. Fans dry things. No matter how you use it. Right side up, upside down. Whatever. It's a fan. Let it blow on the filter to dry it. Do this when you need to. And keep the lid off. It ventilates it. Cuz it gets wet from your breath. So you dry it. A dry smoke eraser stays open. Get it wet, it clogs it. Dry it. Ventilate it. That's all there is to it.I've been using Smoke Erasers for years and I would never go back to smoke buddy because my smoke erasers always last longer. Over the years, they've gone from great to ok, and recently, back to great again. Where now its very consistent. No bunk units. Been a while. So whatever they did. Do that more. These have been amazing. Like seriously. Keep doing what they're doing. I feel like this V5 represents them finally getting it together, consistently. The longevity. Ability to dry quickly, staying open, etc. All on point. So yes. Excellent product. I recommend it highly.

Everything you need to know about smoke filters and this one...............
......is a rip off! Someone commented that it blocked most of the smoke, but not the smell. That's because this is only a partial filter system. It has nothing but a pleated paper filter. This will block smoke for a while, but it takes activated charcoal to remove the smell, and, I suspect, any drug content. I learned that it's the paper that stops the smoke, when I bought a jar of activated charcoal of the appropriate size and made my own charcoal filter with a piece of PVC pipe. It didn't block any smoke, at all!.Smoke Buddy has both, though they put the paper filter last, and make it a permanent filter that cannot be changed. If Smoke Buddy were smart, they'd offer this with a replaceable paper filter, and they'd put it first, instead of the charcoal. But, they'd rather keep on selling new units! I've learned how to make a Smoke Buddy last from 6 months to a year, depending on what it's used with, and how often it's used.I use mine to smoke concentrates in my bedroom, because I have a military Macaw (parrot), and exposing her to the 2nd hand smoke would be very bad for her. I generally take 3 to 4 big hits nightly. To make the Smoke buddy last a long time, I stuff it with cotton balls at the mouth piece end. This does cause a bit of resistance, over how it blows without the balls. But, it's not that bad, at all. Then, when it starts to get too hard to blow into it, I remove the contaminated cotton balls and put in new ones. This greatly extends its life.12/26 - UPDATE: While I stand by most of what I stated above, it may be that I was mistaken to say that there is no charcoal in this filter. It does appear that there may be a thin layer at the bottom, after the pleated filter. When I've exhausted the filter, I'll cut it open and verify this. But, it appears that their thinking was to use a larger paper filter than Smokebuddy does, placing it before the carbon, instead off after it & using more surface area in the paper filter to make it last longer before it plugs up. The charcoal in the Smokebuddy is what plugs up 1st. By putting it last, they think they can get away with using less of the expensive charcoal, as the paper being first will catch most of the resin, allowing the charcoal to remain clear. It will remain to be seen if this proves true.but, I see 2 problems with that. The amount of charcoal used is too little to be thoroughly effective at blocking oder. Also, their statement that it's moisture that causes them to plug up, I strongly disagree with. It's resin that pugs them up. When you've plugged one up, try this:Put some 99% iso alcohol in a small bottle with lid. Draw the hottest water that you can from your kitchen sink into a pan large enough to submerge the bottle with the alcohol. Place the bottle of alcohol, with the lid on tight, into the hot water to heat the alcohol (NEVER USE ANY OTHER METHOD TO HEAT THE ALCOHOL, OR YOU WILL EXPERIENCE A BAD FIRE AND BURNS). Now, as fast as the filter will allow it, pour the heated alcohol through the filter.Notice how dark it is when it comes out, loaded with resin. Do it several times. Now, shake as much of the liquid out of the filter as you can, and then allow it to dry for a few hours. Now go back and blow through it. Notice how much easier it is now. That's because of the resin you've removed, not because of moisture. I still feel that the SmokeBuddy is the superior product, especially if used with cotton balls.

A must have for smokers
Let me tell you a few of the great qualties of this little device it is the best one of its kind believe me someone whos bought every brand, size, color and style and this one right here beats them all hands down with just the smoke eraser but if you get the docking station along with it and do what it says to do this possibly could be your last filter you might just have to buy because i have been using it for two months straight now and the other ones would either be clogged up or so bad you dont even want to use it. and the Eraser is still like brand new you wouldnt even be able to tell i used it unless it didnt smell like Flowerand i tell you the only upgrade they can do to it is a little better moth piecefor comfort and functionalty but the original one is good i just think they can do better, So if you are you are looking for a personal smoking filter(Sploof) then shop no longer this one is the best by far
