Q: shade will not roll up/down with one push of the button, it stops constantly,I have to keep pushing the up/down button over & over, can I fix it/defe?

You need to get out of installer mode. Once you set your up and down limits. press the MY button until shade jogs, then on back of remote press and hold the program (using a paper clip) until shade jogs. you can view instructions on you tube Somfy

Q: Is there a set screw to get to the motor shaft, so i can put my shades adapter on it?

There is a small set screw that holds the shaft adapter that it ships with to the Catia shaft of the motor. It’s typically a hex key (unsure of the specific size). Keep the screw! It is quite hard to find a replacement and you’ll probably need it for your adapter

Q: will this motor work with the old part number 1000494 ?

I bought this to replace a busted 1000494. Worked great. A smidge slower, but also quieter - though still noisy. I re-used the brackets the old one was placed in. I also had to purchase a wiring harness elsewhere to connect it to my 2 existing battery tubes. The power connection is different on this than the 1000494. You will also need to remove the attachment that cranks the blinds from the old motor and attach to this one. So, not exactly easy, but it worked . Same form factor as the 1000494.
