Danco 88569 Rubber Flat Washer, 1/2-Inch, 10-Pack, Carded , Black

I used these in a non-conventional way, so my review shouldn't hold much weight for the intended purpose. I used a couple of these as washers for a fork crown bike light mount that wasn't clearing the headset. Worked great for this purpose.

I got these for an attic fan install. I didn’t realize the dimensions we OD not ID so I ended up using them on the screws which mounted the plywood board to the studs flanking the gable vent (instead of mounting the fan to the plywood for which I used bigger screws). My fan had rubber isolators anyway. First one shot out after I tightened down the screw with my impact driver. I leaned it was best to put a metal washer on the end of the screw to hold the washer in place. Worked after that. I was using #8 screws which fit the ID. I don’t think a bigger screw would get through the center without distortion/damage of the washer.

I purchased a house recently and noticed that most of the shutoff valves needed to be replaced, which could be quite pricy for 6 sinks and 3 toilets. After working through some possible solutions, I realized that the replacement stem kits don't work out very well, because the stem dimensions vary slightly with each vendor. Replacing the shutoff gasket and re-using the existing stem is far more reliable, while also being much cheaper than replacing the entire valve. One issue I ran into while doing the work is corrosion in the pipe and existing valve, which can tend to make it difficult to get a good fit for an OEM gasket matching to original size. Using a size smaller works better for doing the replacement. These gaskets were just about the perfect size. They are a hair smaller than the original, while still sealing off a half inch inlet. One request I'd like to make is that they make these in silicone. I find silicone remains pliable for ~20 years, so effectively would outlast the house. SBR or NBR rubber is organic and subject to oxidize, usually within about 5-10 years. Give me the exact same product made out of silicone, and it would be that much more perfect.

Great product it arrived quickly just like I need the, the finish is well constructed the are sturdy strong, and it feels like it can withstand all elements, although I’m not using them for the plumbing applications I am using them for outdoors where they will see excessive outdoor exposure and abuse from the elements, that being said I have no doubt they will hold up just fine. The only problem was that I believed I ordered the wrong size I thought they were 3/8 in” INNER diameter but they weren’t they were I think it’s the 11/16 inner diameter so I only ended up using 4 of the washers for a different application on the same thing rather than a little over 30 of them like I originally intended to use. Still a great product

Works just fine as a seal on a drain with tube for the washing machine water

The flat washers were the right size.

They should know that after installation, there a re no more drips. They aren't that hard to install, just remember to shut off the water. Great price, plus quick delivery. Can I give more than 5 stars ?
