So, I was a little leery about purchasing this item having been burned before by other brands and companies, but what I received was well worth the purchase. The handle is comfortable in your hand and is well weighted, the blade itself is surprisingly thick and even with the cut out, it doesn't feel like it is going to loose any of it's cutting ability or it's ability to handle the heavy impact required by a cutting tool. Over all, I am very happy with the purchase and look forward to seeing what the company comes out with next.

1ST off not sure what axe these other guys are buying, but this one is cheap as@#$#ck. blade is cut from a thin piece of metal, not forged. handle is plastic and not very good plastic either i could bend it. lastly take your 3 retainer bolts out and slide the axe piece out and look at it, you see un even cutting and even a weld spot or two where they have pieced it together. one things for sure with this axe..1st time you use it on anything solid your either going to snap it in two pieces and be out of pocket 30-60.00 dollars depending on who your getting it from or your going to be in the emergency room with this thing in your head or chest when it snaps back on you.

The head is too light and the handle would be great if it was about 2 to 3 inches longer for greater leverage and better swing

Uneven grind on the blade, it is very visible and disturbing. Blade thickness is not adequate for survival tool, it is just around 3 - 3.5 mm. Sharpness - close to none. Spike is not even sharpened. Would not recommend this item for outdoor adventure.
