Good deal. Thank youThe "extra piece" is to put it into an easel position. You can tighten or loosen the bolts on the bottom to enable the barrings to be stationary or moveable. Best to secure your stone before you take the screw tight screw out.

The pieces are beautiful. But I have no idea what this thing is. It comes with no instructions. But I'm very impressed with the quality. For the price you can't beat it.
