I had to vacuum the lines with a handheld home vacuum cleaner and blow the lines, vapor canister and gasoline tank (without taking off). Several carbon pellets were vacuum and others came out when blowing the gasoline tank through the gas cap. I saw some youtube videos. I didn't take the part off nor lower the gas tank. Will this stop it from backing up at a gas pump or what else would cause that?** A: This is ONE of the parts that could be the issue but if you are doing the job you should buy all 4 parts. This canister, the vapor canister vent selinoid, the wire adapter harness, and the purge valve. Buy all 4. The other 3 parts are actually more the issue part then this canister BUT the charcoal in THIS canister is what actually causes the issue as the carbon pellets in here get loose and then get stuck inside the other parts I listed. If you replace the other 3 parts it'll prob fix the issue but the old charcoal pieces in this canister will eventually (in a year or so) cause the same issue again. So replace all 4 parts at one time. If you still have the issue, you'll have to drop the gas tank and blow air through the hoses to get all the pellets out. But replacing these 4 parts will fix the issue 90% of the time without the need to drop the gas tank. Hope this helps. Goodluck and in the future don't put more gas in the tank after the first click off to ensure this never happens again. I converter this canister part to have a fatal design flaw but it is what it is they include the pellets in order to comply with law trapping the fumes at the pump. **Q: Will this stop filling up slowly, on a 2007 chevy tahoe?** A: Possibly, but if you have progressed to slow filling you also have more wrong than just the canister. If you are not comfortable removing the gas tank to clean out all the EVAP lines on the top of the tank I highly recommend taking it to a professional. Purge valve should also be changed however "might" possibly be able to be cleaned. don't forget the vacuum line from the tank to the engine that is also part of this system. **Q: Would this fit a 2011 tahoe ltz 5.3l ?** A: No, this only fits for the GMT800 platform equipped with non-flexfuel engines. **Q: I have a 2004 gmc yukon denali 1500 6.2l. will this part fit that vehicle?** A: Check engine displacement. Easy to install, other than having to lie on my back working overhead under my vehicle and fighting with the snap-on connectors on the OEM lines. I ended up cutting one of the nipples off the old canister in order to free the line. Note that your line from the fuel tank to the canister may be clogged and will need to be cleared of charcoal pellets. If pellets pour out of the old canister when you remove it, chances are that pellets are also clogging the line to the tank. This may involve dropping the tank to access the opposite end of the fuel line at the tank and then blowing out the line with compressed air. I used a different method to unclog the line that did not involve dropping the tank but I would not recommend it due to possible risk of explosion. If after installing the new canister you have trouble filling the fuel tank without the fuel handle shutting off, the line is clogged.
