Carhartt Men's Rain Defender Relaxed Fit Midweight Sherpa-Lined Full-Zip Sweatshirt

#1 reason i looked at this- waterproofing. As baseball grounds crew I was told it is a "wet, cold, miserable job". Although it doesn't seem like it would be waterproof material- it ABSOLUTELY IS and does a WONDERFUL job at it (we had torrential flooding downpours and ice/sleet rain during work early season- i was good!)#2 reason was I wanted something light but keep me warm. I will admit one one heavy rain fall day where it felt like snow temps (it was actually 52), i did feel rather chilled that day in the end when we had to sit for 30-45 mins for the rain. I was not wet, and I was shocked i felt cold- and pulled the hoodie over my head. I had mositure wicking long sleever underneath and waterproof pants/socks on- so again i was shock i felt a chill. I don't believe it was the coats fault as I LOVE the coat.. perhaps it was sweating during most of the day then sitting down when it got cold that did it?So this jacket is light, but not THAT light. It's light for a "keep me warm" jacket, and it's not entiretrly unpleasant when just wearing it around without being worried about thhe cold (wouldnt' wear it around in t-shirt/shorts weather though.its' defintely waterproof and will keep you warm for normal use. i'd be comfortable in it I believe in sub-40F temps, maybe 30 but that's where i think you might want to switch to a heavier coat- is my guess.its' comfy but it runs a size large (or it did for me). From the guidelines and recommendations, i ordered an XL and switched to an L which i woudl say is still fairly "loose fit" and comfy.

Was looking for a mid-winter replacement for my 10 yr old LL Bean sherpa-lined zip-up hoodie, which was out of stock until June. The Carhartt version is a lot less expensive than the LLB.Pretty much what I was looking for, although it is a little tight in the arms. Very warm, especially in the hood. I ordered a large, but probably will get my next Carhartt hoodie a size larger, so I can more comfortably wear a fleece zip-up jacket under it (which I can do with my LL Bean size=L). In New England, the winter weather varies day-to-day, so it's nice to be able to have layers. I do like the satin/quilted lining in the arms (like the LL Bean has), as this allows me to wear a flannel long sleeve shirt, and/or a fleece jacket, and be able to get in and out without a lot of friction, which would otherwise cause my shirtsleeves to get bunched up in the jacket sleeves. I also like the non-zippered hand-pockets, which are more comfortable in cold weather on bare hands (pocket zippers are cold and scratchy). Zipper seems sturdy. Outer fabric seems durable, and since it is cotton, it won't get pills like fleece does. There's even an upper inside pocket for your phone.

It was a gift for my husband. He loves it! Very warm (important if you live in a cold climate), durable. Pockets are convenient. I rarely find clothes designed specifically for tall people. Thank you, Carhartt! Made in Vietnam.

I bought 3 as Christmas gifts. They loved them and wore them all thru winter. Packed them in their closets, and plan to wear them again this year. They were/are warm, and comfortable. No problems. I plan to buy more as gifts for others this year, if still sold. Thanks.

This sweat shirt is warm and comfortable. Great light weight jacket for walking the dogs in the morning. Provides the right protection for this time of year transitioning from winter to spring. Warm enough for the cooler mornings but not too hot for the nicer days. Carhartt is always well made and this sweatshirt is very good looking. This sweat shirt was also a reasonable price

Good value for the price. Generously sized without being baggy. Sheds rain well, and is warm. But I hate the secret compartment inside the right pocket. It's hard to get your hand past the stupid thing if you want to put something in the pocket. The compartment is not good for a mobile phone either. Mine sticks out enough that a pickpocket would be able to take it easily. If it wasn't for the compartment I would have given this hoodie 5 stars.

Hubby has had this type of sweatshirt in the past and it was his favorite. This one is no exception. Quality made, well insulated, and easy to zip/unzip. It fits him well, the pockets have covers, keeping stuff secure, and the hood is spacious. It's medium-weight, perfect for spring/fall (and even some winter) days.

My boyfriend is tall, just a tad over 6'. The large was the perfect size. The arms are not short, and the length of the torso(for lack of better explanation) was perfect too. Some jackets/hoodies make the arms and torso too short. The zipper feels nice and sturdy, unlike the flimsy plastic kind. The front pockets are nice, and there is a little pocket inside. The temperature outside has been dropping now and so far it keeps him nice and warm. I haven't asked about the weight of it, but to me it doesn't seem lightweight, but also not such a heavy jacket. He wears it indoors as a regular hoodie.

My fiancé loved it!! So warm and repelled rain. Fits well in all the right places. Will likely purchase the female version for myself.

I'm 5'11 and 170lbs and I ordered a large but was way to big..my buddy that usually wares a xl bought my large off meand it fit him perfectly. So I ordered a medium and that fit me perfectly and I usually order a large in all my clothing
