The Coolest Voyager Yet
I was pretty excited about Cold Steel's Kris Voyager before I bought it by just looking at the few photos available online. Now that I own it and have it in hand, though, I'm ecstatic!Like my review title says, I would definitely say that the Kris model is the coolest version yet in Cold Steel's Voyager series of pocket knives, or small swords you could call them as well, heh.Which reminds me, even though this version is the sole Kris Voyager at the moment. The size of knife is in fact an Extra Large (XL) sized Voyager. You can confirm this by checking out my photos that I have included here. Because, I also own the XL Voyager Vaquero Serrated and the XL Voyager Clip Point. And in my photo it shows all three of these Voyager blades side by side. And this new Kris blade version (it's on the right-hand side) is the exact same length, height, whatever you'd call it, as my other two Extra Large Voyagers. So, again, the Kris blade model of the Voyager is indeed an XL.As far as having used the Kris Voyager. Well, I don't have much to say in regards to its reliability or how it handles normal wear and tear, I just got it today. Though, it's a Cold Steel knife and I'd say 99% of the time that means you're getting serious quality. Like, for instance, the quality you get with this knife's Cold Steel patented "Tri-Ad Lock" that it comes with. Those locks I've found have always been smooth to open and close. But, where the magic comes in, is that they pretty much won't ever close unless you tell them to and I'm sure this Kris model is no different. The Tri-Ad lock keeps you very safe in my opinion and is I think the very best lock available on the market for pocket knives, bar none. Now, as far as sharpening my Kris Voyager, haha, well, I'm not sure how easy that will ultimately be in the end. It would probably drive you bonkers with something regular like the Smith's Diamond Stone slab sharpener that I own. It wouldn't be impossible I don't believe. I think it would just take you a little bit longer than normal and require some extra patience. What I'd probably use instead, though, would be my Spyderco Sharpmaker. It uses two sharpening rods that you can just pull the blade across and I assume that would be a lot easier to use for a Kris-shaped blade. If you don't want to fork over the money for the Spyderco version, though I'd recommend it. Well, I believe some other companies like Smith's have copied Spyderco's design and probably sell their version for cheaper than the Spyderco Sharpmaker. But I haven't used their version so I have no idea how well it works. I'm actually still trying to learn how to use my Spyderco sharpener if I'm honest. I still believe it might be the best choice for this type of blade shape though.Overall, I haven't used my Kris Voyager much yet. But I'm more of a collector anyways and for daily use I just use my Cold Steel Finn Wolf. But, even if this blade is a little tougher to sharpen if you do happen to use it daily. Well, who cares? I don't, haha, just look at it! It's rad as heck I think! I can imagine you'll get the occasional jaw drop and many smiles from friends and strangers when you whip this fantasy-looking-beast out, hehe.Though, because if it's a kind of large, or extra large sized, I'd probably be a tad discreet when pulling this awesome knife out around strangers. That is, unless you're lucky enough to live in some knife friendly state or area like Texas. I currently don't, but when it comes to collecting knifes I sure wish I did :).As somebody who owns many, various Cold Steel products. I would have to say that this Kris Voyager pocket knife is absolutely one of my favorite products of their's by a huge margin. I also bought the new and larger Cold Steel Spetznaz Trench Shovel at the same time as this Kris Voyager and highly recommend the Trench Shovel as well. But, this Kris blade excited me the most out of the two products easily.I think whether you're new to the Voyager series or even if you're new to Cold Steel products. That the Kris Voyager knife is easily worth the asking price. I'm very happy with mine so far. Thanks :).

Highly recommend!
This knife is a beautiful beast, I love it, solid good quality steel, the handle is plastic but it is very solid, quality plastic and keeps it from weighing too much. Very sharp out of the box!

This thing is a BEAST
Prior to buying this I did not pay attention to the size measurements. When it arrived, I was surprised by the weight and size. This thing is heavy and bulky. In a good way to me given my size. It opens and closes easily. Sharp on the inside, and you can touch the outside without cutting. The blade is secure when it is closed.

Huge, heavy, cool, but hope you can sharpen it
Good knife but blade dulled after using it at work a couple weeks. definitely need to be able to sharpen the blade or it wont cut through butter. its basically a small sword though when you get the XL

Good knife for the price
Love how sharp and balanced it feels, good for cutting boxes and plastic wrap off of pallets. Lock is a little off but not enough to ruin the knife. Overall a good knife.

Impressive
Cold steel hit it out of the park with the voyager Xl kriss. A beast of a knife. Once you get used to carry something this size you'll never go back to a regular sized knife again, hunting, fishing, camping, self defense. One knife for everything. Very light for it's size and just a really cool blade to have.
