Package was delivered on time. The kit was well protected and packed. Easy to put together. Seems sturdy enough, reminds me of the enlarger stand I used decades ago. I do hope it holds up since I will be using it for a long time. I have many boxes of negatives and pictures to save digitally. I'm sure I will find other uses for it. The cell phone holder was a unexpected and very welcome extra bonus. This will be an appreciated steady third hand. Thank you for making this stand in the USA. We need more companies manufacturing in the USA.

I bought this copy-stand to do "DSLR scanning" of some 35mm slides. The fatal flaw of the setup is that there is no way to adjust the "tilt" angle of the camera. My camera hangs on the L bracket at a tilt angle of a couple degrees, which is enough that the not all of the 35mm slide will be in perfect focus. An additional "tripod leveling base" (or at least a shim) is necessary to accomplish that. The copy stand is reasonably sturdy, but the amount of camera shake during close focusing is considerable. That said, I don't know of any better copy stand for this purpose in a similar price range.I'm using a Lumix GX85 with the Olympus 60mm macro lens to do the photography. With the camera mounted at the lowest possible position, the 35mm slide image mostly fills the frame. Being able to move the camera further down would be a little bit better. Not related to the copy stand, but perhaps helpful to others trying to do slide scanning: I found that f/2.8 and f/4.0 provide best sharpness with this lens. Stopping down the aperture further results in noticeable loss of sharpness due to diffraction. I would be very curious to try this with a newer camera supporting sensor-shift high resolution mode.

It's a great deal for the price, but you could get something used for the same price that works better. It's a little wobbly and finicky, but it gets the job done in a pinch. I was using this for scanning film.

OK so I almost never leave reviews on Amazon. One reason is I’m generally not 100% happy with things I get but not unhappy enough to send them back. This is different. I am 100%, scratch that, I’m 110% happy with this copy stand. Great quality, very easy to put together, and everything they said it was in the ad.

I use this copy stand for scanning film negatives with DSLR. Normally copy stands for susch purposes go for much higher price. Three diffrent options for Cosmo stand can be found on internet. They are rated Mini 300, Mini500 and Mini700 dependent on their holding power. This one is Mini500. It is more or less OK, holds DSLR securely though it moves if you touch camera. This issue can be mitigated mechanically to some extend. Probably this will be true for almost any stand at least to some extend. Of course it reqires timed shutter release. I use 2 sec, though 10 sec might be slightly better. Another issue is that L-bracket is a bit short and with some macro lenses it requires to lift negatives. With some dexterity this stand allows to accomplish objective - to get 35mm film negatives scanned with good quality at high resolution of 42 MP (Sony A7RII). With above mentioned caveats I would say that this is usable product.

The Cosmo Mini 500 Copy Stand is a very simple design, that does the job very well. I was looking for a reasonably priced stand for limited/intermittent use -- small projects now and again. Most of what I copy are 8.5 X 11 inch sheets; this is the perfect size for the job.It is very easy to set up and take down -- one bolt through the base (Allen's head wrench included) and a hand tightened bolt on top of the stand; a second hand tightened bolt secures camera to the stand. The product packaging is well thought for storage between uses.All the parts are very sturdy, rugged in fact; the base is quite heavy, ensuring good stability. The product description indicates it will hold cameras up to 2.5 pounds -- so far I have only mounted a Nikon D7500 camera with a Nikkor micro 40mm DX lens, well under the weight limit. It holds this combination securely, with no slippage. The camera mounting area is nicely padded to prevent any damage to the camera base.One addition I would suggest: a multi axis level mounted in the camera's flash shoe to ensure the camera is parallel to the base (a camera can rotate on the bolt mounting it to the stand).I use a daylight rated light to the side of the stand to illuminate the copy.This stand doesn't have many of the "extras" found on more expensive stands (eg, ratcheted height adjustments, detents for copy sizes, mountings for lights) but as a basic stand it does the job well.

I bought this to dup a bunch of old slides and it works great for that. Can't speak to much else. It seems sturdy and is easy to set up.

I wish this product had an Arca Swiss quick release or at least a possibility of attaching one. I only have one camera body and screwing the camera off and on it is a bit of a nuisance. Otherwise a very nice product for copying old photos and negatives. I can leave it set up all the time as it doesn't take up much space in my studio/office.
