The rubber coating is awesome and prevents any scratches and they seem to be secure.

I have purchased different types of the cinch straps to transport kayaks. Most of the inexpensive the springs in the clips are weaker and the straps are stiff not allowing for a good bite. These straps have a slight give to them allowing the stiffer springs in the cinch to bite in a little to reduce the risk of slipping. Earlier ones I was able to pull the strap loose and these I have not. Only potential issue I can see it the neoprene hood could get weathered over time but when not in use living in AZ I store them inside and nothing last forever. Would recommend these for price and quality.

I purchased these cam straps to attach an 80lb 13' kayak to my car roof rack or my utility trailer. They are a somewhat light weight material compared to the $40 dollar straps my wife purchased from the kayak manufacturer for her kayak but they get the job done. I use 2 of them every weekend on my 80lb kayak and she uses hers on an 60lb kayak. I have never felt like I needed to be concerned with these getting the job done. We generally travel 35 to 45 minutes from home every weekend to various lakes close to us and usually have long stretches of highway traveling 65 to 70 miles an hour with them on the trailer. I have seen some other reviews talk about the protective covers being flimsy but I unstrap my kayak after every outing so they've gotten put on and taken off a lot since I purchased them and the covers have not shown any signs of wear so far. They are a little prone to getting a little wrinkled up on the ends from were I tie them to themselves to keep the excess from blowing around but it hasn't really caused an issue so far with lacing them through the buckles.

I got these for kayaks so I don’t use my ratchet straps. Nice and long and feel very sturdy. Buckle is solid.

Love the rubber protection boots to keep things from getting scratched.

These straps have become one of my favorites. I like like the rubber covering to protect car paint. I tried several others before getting these. The straps are easy to insert into the buckle without fumbling and are tight enough to prevent any slipping while driving on bumpy roads. They are wide and sturdy. I highly recommend this product.

These stairs worked great to strap my kayak down to my car. No damage to either the car or kayak. Highly recommend!
