Beautiful book, great prints and vivid colors

Fantastic. Even better than expected. Beautiful prints from transparencies taken near the sets of Wenders' films, mostly in 70s and 80s.

Interesting how a European (Wenders) can go straight to the heart of America's West and capture the sense of space and frailty of man's efforts to control it. Although this format is very similar to other recent books of photography on the West, you have to give credit to Wenders use of color, space and light from interior scenes to vast panoramas. This newer edition includes photos of Paris, Texas which was ignored earlier and in his movie, Paris, Texas, although the few photos selected are very limited in scope of the city depicting a few decaying buildings. I like the book size and photos, it is just right for stimulating without stupefying.

Win Wenders in photographer mode recording the area around where he filmed sections of one of the best opening scenes of any film I can think of, Paris Texas. I remember being blown away by the film when it came out and basically made a promise to myself to get out there and see it for myself some day. Roughly 34 years later I did it, as part of a 6100 mile road trip across the US.Wim captures more than just eye candy, he also nails the vibe of the place, the slow downhill struggle against the elements, time and changing fortunes. Surprisingly little has changed in these areas, the money and big change having placed themselves firmly in the cities.Reading this book makes me want to get right back out there........Superb print quality, no photos split over a crease(an act that only someone who hates photographs would choose to do), solid binding and a size that leaves the book easy to hold and look through, yet be large enough to really check out the detail in the photos.In short, a book I have no hesitation in recommending to others to read and enjoy.

Trovo che il libro ha rispettato tutte le mie aspettative.Un grande regista , un amante della fotografia.Ha reso bene le zone dove ha girato Paris - Texas , con i grandi spazi, il senso di solitudine e di abbandono.Consigliabilissimo a chi ama la fotografia, Wenders, l'America dei grandi spazi.
