Q: Is this mat suitable to use as a floor protector under the urinal in an occasionally used men's bathroom?

Maybe. It’s a smooth silicone sheet so it may get slippery if liquid gets on and/or under it? It’s also not that durable - ours tore when we were unfolding it.

Q: Which side do we craft on? The shiny or matte side?

Either side is fine! The shiny slide can be a bit easier to remove dried paint and glue from, but both sides work great. Some people like to reserve one side for "clean" activities and one side for "dirty" ones. Happy Crafting!

No, you would want a self-healing cutting mat for that purpose.
