These are excellent low-light cameras that will show stars at night, in case you want to see the sky as well as stealthy visitors. The cameras are an Amcrest branded version of ubiquitous cameras manufactured in China. They appear to use a Sony Starvis sensor or equivalent, enabling low light vision without IR, but the specifications do not designate the sensor. The IR illumination can be turned off and with the camera's sensitivity is not needed. Configuration is very easy, and for those who just want to get started, it will find an address by DHCP. You may need access to your IP server to identify this address, or you can use their tools. One caveat, the tools may be intrusive and generate warnings in Firefox. It would be safest to firewall these cameras within your local network. That said, the preformance is equal to a Speco camera of similar specifications and four times the price. The firmware is modern too, unlike that on the Empiretech branded similar camera. Kudos to Amcrest for a very affordable solution for local low-light monitoring, compatible with Linux too.

Excellent cameras love the video feed and supper sharp. Mounting is painless. Make sure you do additional sealing around the connector I have had leaks and blew out my camera and NVR poe. Had to replace the camera that Amazon graciously refunded but now have to run on a Poe injector for the power instead of the NVR power just a little clear silicon does the trick

This is for the 2pk IPC-1739EW Took a little bit to get these connected. Starters they have 12v barrel 2A & POE input. NO power included. Can use Amcrest IP Config tool to find the cam and set it up. They use DHCP and admin/admin, if you find the IP from your router you should be able to login from a browser using IP. They will work with many apps like SmartPSS, IPCam Viewer by Robert Chou. Or all the big cam apps. The ports are all pretty typical and can be changed by logging into cam. The mic does work but I'll have to do more testing of cam.

Installation was easy, comes with templates. The image quality is great, and the microphone is really sensitive. The contrast both day and night is great! I don't use the motion detection or SD card storage, as I have my own NVR, which it works great with.

Very quick delivery and very good product. Unfortunately they were not compatible with my NVR. The seller is ok.

Not sure I'll be buying Amcrest again. These cameras may work fine, who knows, the firmware has tons of bugs in it but Amcrest won't open a bug report. (Just spent 2 hours on the phone with support) I have 2 of these cameras. Here is an example of the bugs. The 'save' button doesn't work when adding a user, which means, you can't add a new user. The ONLY way to get this to work, is to open up edge and enter into the settings for Edge the IP address (not the hostname) for the camera as running in IE mode. Then you can bring up the camera (again, IP address only) and add a user. The other functions however, do not work like this, so you will have to have a separate browser like Chrome to actually view the camera or make changes to the stream. They don't consider these bugs because it's POSSIBLE to do this, just horribly annoying to have to have two browsers just to run your camera.
