Bought this for my mother in an assisted living facility where she's been having falls more often. I bought this may for the reviews and the price. It seems to be pretty good, but the only drawback was the strong rubber smell when I opened it up. Hopefully, it will dissipate over time.

Ordered this mat by mistake. Meant to order one with an alarm to alert me when my wife stepped out of bed. Decided to try it anyway, since she is a fall risk. Placed it along her side of the bed. Stepping onto it from the floor is a tripping hazard for someone who shuffles his/her feet - 2" thick. Once on it, it is very difficult to walk, since your feet sink all the way to the bottom. My wife weighs 123 lbs and she did not have the strength to lift her feet out of the hole they created when stepping on the mat. I myself had trouble walking on it while assisting her away from the bedside. The foam is very flimsy if you are stepping on it. Perhaps, it provides some protection, when falling on it as your weight is distributed across a larger area. Thus, it's better for a bedridden patient than for someone who is ambulatory. To my surprise, when I clicked on "Item Return", I learned that "This item is not eligible for return." Guess, I'm stuck with it.

We like that the product is lightweight, easy to fold, and has ample padding. Most importantly, we found out, unfortunately in a way, that it works. Elderly relative just out of surgery fell getting out of bed; she was found lying on the mat....UNINJURED!Whew....thanks

My mom is 87 years old. A month ago she fell out of bed in the night and got some pretty serious bruises from it. I bought this mat and placed it next to her bed. She fell out again some weeks later and sustained NO INJURIES. It is worth every penny I spent on it and more.

This is a perfect pad for my Mom who falls out of bed at times. It feels like it will take the impact and do well for her. You will need to put it away during the times that a loved one is being watched.

This mat is plenty soft and should provide an easy landing. It is hard to walk on, so it has to be moved out of the way when not in use.

This is a great mat for the money. I would recommend it to anyone who has a loved one who is a fall risk. I even slept on it while staying overnight with my 91 year old mother.

Bought this for my elderly mother. Works fine. Can also be used as a mat under a sleeping bag for someone sleeping on the floor.
