Our defrost thermostat went out on our older model GE profile refrigerator. We ordered this part from Amazon, and so far it works great! Easy install, and no issues so far!

Perfect drop-in fit into a GE GSH25JFTA side by side fridge. If you're seeing ice building up in the freezer with no air flow into fridge side/fridge side warm, you simply need to pull the tall thin cover at the back of the freezer. Then, defrost the freezer coils, replace this at the bottom, and plug back in.That said, I've had lower quality versions of this heater, and they all seem to get moisture in them, then burn out in the middle. This model is correctly sealed and uses a borosilicate glass tube with sand filled porcelain ends.

DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE! Had to replace once after failed in 2 months. Second one is wrong resistance, overheats, melts the ice in the bin and makes the entire refrigerator and freezer smell like burnt plastic. Ruined all of my food! GET ORIGINAL PART ONLY!UPDATE!: The bimetal thermostat included with this IS NOT THE CORRECT PART This is the cause of the overheating! To test the defrost thermostat, use an ohmmeter and check for close to ZERO ohms, when the thermostat is COLD. If the thermostat tests ZERO ohms at ROOM TEMPERATURE, it is BAD! The two thermostats I received from BlueStars, both are closed at room temperature. They are supposed to open at 30 degrees Farenheit. JUNK~!!!!!!!!!

I ordered this to fix my fridge that was cooling. Was a little worried at 1st because to get the same part from an appliance store was almost $80 and from here was under $20. Went ahead and ordered it and to my surprise works great and fixed my fridge in no time. I would highly recommend using this part than getting one from an appliance store who wants to charge 3-4 times more on the price.

Save the trip from the tech and install your self

I liked the product but when ordering 2 sets if one item is bad out of the 4 items all together . You can’t get replacement for that 1 item. You have to reorder the 2 sets but exceptions can be worked out with Amazon. That is if you complaint of the situation . There has to be a change for customers to know exceptions in policy do exist. I do order more than one on accessions when I know it’s gonna be needed in future. Refrigerators are always bracing down .
