Nice Addition For Kitchen Aid Mixer
First impressions of this grinder were a mixed bag. It doesn't come with instructions and the written materials and packaging that it came in were not as professional as I would expect to see from a name-brand company (which this isn't). Also, you'll definitely want to give it a good wash before use. The grinding dies appear to be carbon steel and are coated in some kind of protective oil for shipping to prevent rust. Based on the smell, I don't think the protective oil is probably food-safe. That being said, everything cleans up pretty easily with a liberal dose of dish soap and some scrubbing. That brings us to the next point - the word "stainless" is included in the title of this product but it is definitely not entirely made of stainless steel. The grinder body is aluminum, the dies appear to be carbon steel and I would guess that the auger is aluminum and/or cast steel; hence the non dishwasher-safe disclaimers. The feed tray and the sausage tubes do appear to be stainless. All that being said, this grinder does appear to be pretty well-made. The parts fit together nicely and easily and mounting the assembly to my mixer was very simply and (to me) intuitive. It's pretty easy to clean, both before and after use and did nicely for my test run of chuck roast grinding. I did a little online research before using it and chilled the grinder as well as the meat in the freezer for about half an hour before use and ground the meat twice; once coarse and the second round with the fine attachment. The meat turned out nicely and with minimal effort overall on my part. Overall, I'm happy with this attachment. It does a good job and for the dollar, I think will be more durable to than name-brand plastic version.

This works well
This is not to be used for commercial or heavy duty grinding/mincing of meat. However for the individuals or family that wish to grind occasionally this works very well.It attaches to the KitchenAid mixer very easily. We do not eat red meat so we look for ground chicken, pork or turkey to buy. It is not always available nor is the price always friendly. We look for those meats when they are on sale and buy some extra to grind. So buying this grinder can pay for itself over an extended period of time.We found it easy to set up and use. The directions state that having the meat cold or partly frozen works best. We agree. We sliced the meat into strips 1 1/2 to 2 inches ( 3-5 cm ), which made it easy to feed to the grinder while not clogging it. We never did need to utilize the plunger to push the meat down.We used a medium speed setting and had no problems and found it works well at a slightly higher speed too.Disassembling was simple as was washing up. Be careful of the cutting wheel as the edges are sharpUsing the included cleaning brush made quick work of cleaning the inside throat of the unit.We have not experienced any problems with this unit...so far.

Dangerous Metal Shavings
I bought this a couple months ago in hopes for a more reasonably priced attachment for our stand mixer. Finally got the time and energy to break it out and noticed how cheap the materials felt. Poorly machined, very lightweight, etc. Nothing was put together without feeling forced a little. This came especially true when screwing on the cap the assembly. I screwed it on until it seemed tight, but everything inside was jiggling and loose. So I strong armed the cap and screwed it on even more. It has quite a bit to go apparently. But it was very difficult to do so. My wife would have a difficult time with the amount of force it took. When disassembling to wash everything I noticed small reflections on my countertop where the pieces were laying. It was metal shavings. It had coated the threads and got on the main auger. I don't know about you, but metal is not a secret ingredient in my smash burgers. This is the first review I've ever done. Even if I don't like a product, I won't say anything, but this is a safety concern. I urge major caution to those that buy this product. I waited far too long to take it out of the box and try it out that I will have to eat that $40. But that's ok, I wasn't looking for a refund in return for this review, instead a PSA. We bought the kitchen aid brand last night on sale for $79. About double this but all stainless steel. Sometimes it doesn't pay to get the off brand.

Good for price, get what pay for
I bought this to go on my kitchenaid mixer. I always wanted to grind my 8wn neat and since I wasn't going to be making large batches I thought this was a good deal and size.First, the instructions were pretty simple on how to assemble.Second , the blades were not sharp enough to continually cut through the fat, and I was using small cubes of meat. This caused the plates to get clogged up.I also had a blade break causing me to toss about half pound of meat because I didn't know if metal had contaminated what was inside grinder. My suggestion would be to spend a little more and get a counter top grinder

Food grinder
This simple adapter does its job, but could have been done substantially better. The top portion can be dislodged too easy and the front nut if tighten could stop blades from spinning.Worm shaft does leave quite a bit of meat inside , not properly optimised in shape like seen on other even manual operation food grinders. Overall good enough to use, but does appear to be a poorly copied replica of what you would expect in a 21-st century. The only excuse is that it is incredibly cheap and most probably this is the exact case where you are getting what you paid for.

Nice Product
This meat grinder is a great buy for the price. I do not use this type of kitchen tool often but it is nice to have when I need it. It works fine with a wide variety of meats and vegetables. It is easy to assemble and disassemble for cleaning and storage. All in all, it is of good quality.
