Runs on 18V but not PWM
Using these for a homemade PAPR (positive air pressure respirator) running off a drill battery. Only plan on using with larger, not-flamible dust. Any kind of gas or smaller particle could potentially be dangerous.I know that 18 V is more than they are rated for, so they may not last as long under those conditions. But for the price it is worth trying. Have used for about 20 minutes working on insulation in the attic. So far so good.I initially planned on regulating down to 12V using a motor speed controller that I pulled out of a power wheels conversion that I had done. But the fans just squealed until full voltage was applied. The controller is using PWM and these brushless motors don't seem to like like that. At first I wondered if there controller was bad, but I tested on a motor out of a drill, and it worked fine. Also tried putting both motors in series to reduce the voltage applied across each. This works with brushed motors, but apparently not with these brushless. I didn't pay attention to the fact these are brushless when ordering, so I didn't think about it before trying. Was going to use a double pole double throw switch to change between series / parallel for high / low speed. But that won't work, so I'll try the 18V until they burn up or get a 12V battery pack. It will be worth it if it makes breathing in the attic easier for a few hours.Obviously, I'm putting them through much more strenuous conditions than intended, but they are still working. So that seems to speak well to the quality and durability. I'll update if they do ever stop working.

Small but Powerful
I bought these fans to replace a fan that had failed in my gigabit ethernet switch. When I opened the box that the switch was in, I was surprised how simple the configuration was. There was a circuit board in the middle, a power supply toward the top, and a fan on the right hand side, pulling air across the heatsinks of the circuit board.Since the fan had failed, I wanted to replace it as quickly as possible. I ordered this fan kit from Amazon. This fan kit came with two 40 mm x 10 mm fans. Each fan has nine blades versus the original fan which only had seven blades. As far as the fan speed or the CFM of the original fan goes, I can’t really compare since the original fan had failed.I easily replaced the fan on the right hand side since it was just a swap out of the existing fan. However, since I had a second fan in the kit, I wanted to add it in as well. So I ended up taking all of the components out of the metal box, drilling a couple of holes that would fit the new fan, and adding the second fan. The second fan now blows air into the box from the left to assist the fan on the right hand side which was blowing air out of the box.I wired everything up and it all worked perfectly. Now I feel like my switch is getting proper airflow, which hopefully will extend the life of the switch and keep my home network running at top speeds. The fans seem to work perfectly, and I can feel the air flowing out of the box on the right hand side. I did see some comments about how noisy these fans were, but I felt that they were very quiet, especially for the amount of air that they’re actually moving. Overall, I am very pleased.

Cable is short
Needed to splice a longer connector to use it with my 3d printer. Cable is only a few inches long - works great otherwise

noisy but small
in tight spaces this would be good, but the fans are NOISY. which is to be expected per their size

Small enough to cool a mini board
Great price very quiet I only wish they would offer a mother board connection version because that is why I bought it in the first place, but it still worked great.

Very small.
Didnt really read on how small these actually are. They are small. Lol
