Length is 3.25
A great little knife. Nice feel. Blade easy to change. The length closed is 3.25 not 2.25. it still is nice and compact too.

Not the knife pictured in ad!
This knife is not the one I ordered. I have ordered the one pictured before. It's functionality is good, except the belt clip cane out on the first time clipping it to my pocket.

Great Pocket Utility Knife - Doesn't replace a full sized knife
I've been carrying this for over a year now, using it nearly every single day and it's been great. I've used it to cut braided tubing, hose, carve wood/trex, scrape plastic, clean parts, etc etc and it has held up to this day. Keep in mind that this is smaller and thinner than your typical utility knife so if you plan on cutting through anything thick/tough and/or doing a lot of cutting in one day I would recommend a larger knife. It's fairly difficult to cut through tubing and hose especially because the thin, metal edges cut into your hands pretty badly. Also, the blade does have some play and has increased over time, now it's about 3/16" at the tip of the blade. it still opens/closes perfectly though.Another issue I've had is that I bent the pocket clip out a bit too far, and although I had the right bits, I was unable to remove the screws holding the clip in. They almost instantly stripped out, even being super careful. Just keep this in mind if you plan on taking it apart ever. The clip is loose on mine and I can't really do anything about it unfortunately.Overall it's a great little knife, built well and performs pretty good for most small to medium sized tasks. I would not recommend it for heavy duty or repetitive tasks. Get a proper utility knife for that. But use this as an EDC utility knife.

Great for Every Day Carry - better than EAB
This is better than the Gerber EAB for every day carry. It's attractive elliptical shape makes it feel better in the hand, yet still very compact in the pocket. The blade is easy to change, which for me is a must for a replaceable blade utility knife - on the EAB the blades are extremely difficult to change. Unlike the EAB, the Elliptic is easy to open one handed.Like the EAB the Elliptic could be used as a money clip - it looks great when folded, and, from the clip side it is not obvious it is a knife. So given all these pluses, why four stars instead of five? It shares one fault with the EAB - when a normal thickness utility blade is installed there is quite a bit of play - I don't notice it while cutting but I wish it wasn't there. And the Elliptic has something to watch out for - when using it you have to be a bit careful as to where you place your thumb - I've never had a problem but I can see that it would be possible to put it on the blade release lever. (Also, if you are left handed this is probably not the knife for you.)But to end on a positive note - the Elliptic is a replaceable blade utility knife that I carry every day. When I take it out, it works well and draws compliments for it's good looks and unusual shape. And I never had to sharpen it - just change the blade.!

Good little utility blade holder
This is a good little utility blade holder. I use this pretty much everyday at work. The spine lock gives you a nice positive snap when it locks open. Combined with a pack of blades from Uline this thing should last forever.

Worth about what it costs
Based on the quality of craftsmanship I'm guessing this was made here in America: one of the two screws holding the clip to it was extremely stripped and very difficult to remove. Within a week of regular use one of the screws holding the wood to the other side fell out on its own leaving the moon-shaped piece pivoting around the one remaining screw -- if I didn't have (metric sized!) jeweler's hex tools to remove the other screw I would have had to throw it out as unusable. Finally, the mechanism to release the blade is pretty tight; which I'm okay with for safety reasons, but if your grip isn't as strong you may have trouble. So while it's a general fail on craftsmanship and some techinical details I'm rating it 3 stars, or "okay", for its general design. Once the clip and the wood are gone it's super slim with only the thumb bolt sticking out the side, which makes it very comfortable to carry in your normal pants pocket. Also the oval shape feels good in your hand both when it's closed and when it's open despite seemingly sharp side angles.I would buy it again as a spare or an around-the-house knife, but if you are looking for an every-day work tool there are better knifes to be had -- made by the same company even.

Sturdy. Convenient features. Worth it.
Great option for a box cutter style knife.I've liked the feel and ease of blade changeout not needing tools. I had the Gerber one and liked it because of it being super basic and compact, but sometimes questioned its flimsiness. Hated changing the blade. The blade change is slick and very easy on the fly. Most secure I've had so far. Some complain that they push the button on the blade lock while cutting. Some attention and keeping your hand further toward the handle keeps that less of an issue. If you're pressing that hard on this style knife, you're not using the right tool or you need a new blade.Only gripe is the wood accent. I think there's a better way to create traction for your hand for one hand opening. If even needed. I can flick it open without it. Nothing to detract from its quality or function... just observation.I've enjoyed it a lot. Would buy again. Oh... and the clip works well on a thin belt!!

Práctico y bien hecho
Muy práctico. Se puede abrir con una mano, tiene bloqueo para prevenir accidentes. Ocupa poco espacio en el bolsillo.
