Smith & WessonNight Guard Series Rechargeable, Waterproof Headlamps with Hat/Pocket Clips for Tracking, Survival, Hunting and Outdoor

Bought this for a friend to use hunting. Blindingly bright if pointed at your eyes, even in a well lit room. Has USB charging which I love in place of the typical cohort of batteries that either go dead or start rotting while the unit sits unattended. Dimmer function works well though I wish it allowed for a dimmer final setting it does provide a range of brightness that doesn't limit you to full blast. I'd guess it gets you down to 40% of the over-all brightness. Fitment was good, and the unit is quite light and unobtrusive. Definitely lighter than the units I have that take 3AAA batteries. I've had a lot of headlamps and wish I had bought one of these for myself.

I don't like the headbands since I wear a cap all the time. The clip it comes with slides right on a cap bill,collar of a shirt,or even the fold on a winter tabogin. Easy on button function and for it's size last an hour on high!

Very compact to take hiking/camping. provides good lighting. I charged the lamp and then turned it on to verify the battery life which was roughly 2 1/2 hours. I use this lamp when I am close to camp.

My favorite thing about this headlamp is the fact that it has a hat clip so it doesn’t require you to use the strap to wear it. It can be taken off the strap and clipped directly to a hats bill. It’s very lightweight so it’s barely noticeable when having it clipped to your hat. The brightness is decent enough to perform tasks in your reach. It can’t throw the light very far with any distance in a solid beam (spotlight) so it’s not for spotlighting so to speak. That being said it’s a nice light overall.

The media could not be loaded.  We use headlamps often on our property. We live on 24 wooded acres. No streetlights. Lots of oogily boogilies in our woods. If I need to check on the animals, I need light. This is bright enough for the price. We have used $50 headlamps that are brighter and have a wider cast of light, but for the $17 that this is currently priced at, it is perfect.Charge lasts a lengthy time. I actually haven't had to charge it yet and it has been at least 2 weeks. Versatile because it can clip on your hat or pocket, which other lamps that we have do not do.Hubs will also steal this at times to check on his work truck before leaving in the early AM. All around useful tool to have.In my video you can see how dark it is naturally in two places where I just turn it off. Other than that you can see decently far as shown. Overall ... no regrets.

I'm actually pretty impressed with the quality of this Smith & Wesson Night Guard Series Waterproof Headlamp.I like how lightweight it is, and the adjustability of the brightness is quite versatile. There's nothing complicated about using it, and the battery life works very well for a long time before needing a recharge, which I'm really happy about.You can dim it nicely when you don't need a super bright light, and you can also get the brightness up to a point to see quite clearly in the dark with a decent range of visibility. I also love that there's a hat clip with this, although the strap is still quite comfortable when worn over a long period of time. The fact that it's waterproof is just icing on the cake for a handy gadget like this. Everything about it is easy to operate and it is well made - so it gets two thumbs up from me!

I used this headlamp 4 nights a week for work since February. Now it fully charges and as soon as you disconnect it from the charger its dead. For $25 i could have bought 2 battery operated headlamps that would probably still be working.If you're only going to use this here and there I recommend it, its super light weight and bright enough. IF you need this to work at night and expect it to be reliable - i cannot recommend it for this. You'll find yourself buying another one in less than 6 months like me.
