I made some frozen Russet potatoes. At first it was way to hard to use. Then per the instructions I cut the tip off the potato so there would be a flat surface at the plunger end. That helped, but when I cut the tip off both ends it got a easier. Then I cut them in half and that made it super easy to plunge them thru at 3.5 to 4 inch long French fries. Although I did not try cutting them in half, 5-6 inch potatoes would not work. Most of these Russets are not that long anyway.The extension handle is easy to take on/off. So it is compact for storage.The cutter comes off via a thumb screw. EZ-PZ.The plunger snaps in with two slots, I pushed up from the bottom with my 2 thumbs, it was stiff but I finally got the knack of it.I did not bother with attaching the suction cup. It is 1 large single cup.I did not peel my potatoes.I soaked the cut fries in water for 30 minutes to remove some starch.Blanched in simmering water for 5-6 minutesChilled them in ice waterDrained and placed the fries on wax paper lined cookie sheet, padded dry with kitchen towel.Froze on cookie sheet for an hour or so. Then bagged them up.I got the cutter on sale around $27 and the potatoes at Meijer's for 99¢ per 5 Lb.So I think it was worth it since I bought 5 BAGS.

I found I had to cut larger potatoes in half first, otherwise cuts potatoes easily. Suction not so great.

It works AWESOME! It will cut sweet potatoes also. It is so sturdy and definitely worth the money! I love that you can cut zucchini or carrots too! It is easy to clean and easy to store.

Overall, the Product works well. I only have an issue with the suction device, which too easily detached from the actual cutter. It is very hard to get the screw head to fit back into the suction device.

I LOVE this thing! I was using a Pampered Chef hand press. (Kind of like an apple corer.) And it took some serious effort as and l time. This cutter is amazing! Had 8 potatoes cut in 2 minutes! I Can't give it enough praise. Have the perfect sport that's raised so I can place the cutter up there, my strainer underneath, cut them directly into that, then put my strainer in a bowl filled with ice water, perfection! The suction power is mediocre but the blade is sharp enough to not require a lot of force so it held just fine for me.

Bought this and after the first unit, the button that allows the handle to be removed could not be pushed in. As a result, the extendable handle was permanently stuck on the unit in the extended position, making it difficult to store the unit. I requested a replacement, and Amazon procesed a replacement. The same thing happened w/ the second unit, making me think that this is a product design flaw. Apparently, after pushing/flexing the handle (when making fries), something inside the handle must get bent/deformed, thereby preventing the release button from being able to be pressed.

I like this cutter. Not to big for storage. Has 2 different size blades. Is long enough for regular size potato. Potato slides rights through. So fast and easy. Love it!

I would give this 4.5 stsrs but once again Amazon for some reason does not do half star increments. Very well made and gives the option of two square cut cutters of different sizes to use. Now this system does not allow you to effortlessly crank the arm to easily put a potato through it, you have to sort of crank and shove just a tad to get it done. Mainly because the system is not hard mounted but suctioned. To the suction....works but I would place my hand by it to hold it still. I had the suction to release during a 5 potato cutting process. But no big deal. This system appears to be well manufactured for home use and should serve you well. I have only put potatoes through the system to date. I would say carrots, zucchini and celery to be very easy compared to a potato. Excellent item so for the few things that may be a little subpar.....4.5 stars even though I can only give 4. I never hardly give 5 unless it is a simple item that works without any issues what so ever.
