Review: Absolutely the best primer for plastic ever! - I am learning to customize dolls and a certain Doll came out from Monster High that has stilettos. They made him up horrible gray color and alls I could think of is how good they would look great they would look in Chrome silver (by the way I bought Chrome pens from desertcart also that have chromium so they have a true reflective surface). Well anyhow I tried everything the pen wouldn't go on very smooth if you tried to touch it up it would make it wet again or it would just end up sticky. Then I started looking into primers I bought one and it didn't work because it had paint with it with paint and primer. Then I found this product and I swear to goodness if the Heavens would have opened with a light coming down focusing on this can I wouldn't have been shocked. This is extremely easy to use and the chrome paint pen goes on smooth and it dries fast and highly reflective. It's fast too. You do two or three light coats only waiting at least 3 minutes in between and then after the last coat you can start doing your Chrome I think I waited like 30 seconds. This is such a great product I have already bought another can and I'm not even finished with the first one! I think the key words are adhesion promotion for plastic. And it worked for that softer kind of plastic too. I am just over the moon over this product it could not be better. And honestly the price Maybe a $15 but I wasted a lot more than that buying other products that cost $7 that didn't work.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: After applying this to bare plastic, do I need a primer before the base coat? Or can I just apply the base color coat to this?**
A: What this stuff does is essentially chemically break down the surface of the plastic so that when you paint, which you must do immediately, the color binds with the dissolved plastic and as the adhesion promoter dries/evaporates you are left with a surface where the plastic material and the foreign material (paint) is dissolved together. This allows the next coat to bind with the first coat and the third coat to bind with the second and so on.  Don't wait for this stuff to dry.  Follow the directions on the can carefully.  If you let it dry then the plastic has already re-formed and your first coat is not going to bind.

**Q: Just curious.  Does the product's label indicate how much area 1 can covers?  Thanks in advance.**
A: The back label states that it covers 12-14 square feet.  Hope this helps.

**Q: Can you use with Auto Air Colors?**
A: As long as you use it over plastic and foll the instructions, yes. I let it just det dry to the point that it doesn't look wet and start painting. I have used it for years an had zero adhesion failures on plastics.

**Q: I was looking online for how to save and seal a rusted patina.  Automotive spray sealers came up, and I'll add this first. Thoughts?**
A: I used this product as a primer when painting old vinyl faux shutters on my house. The surface was "chalky" and I was worried about long term adhesion of my color choice. I used TSP to wash them, then primed them with this stuff, one good coat. Then 2 coats of aerosol paint. They look great a year later.  It gave the shutters a "tacky" feel when dry and the paint adhered well. Gotta follow the directions which require the paint be applied within 10 minutes as I recall. It's not intended as a finish coat. It did dry clear so it may suit your needs.  Good luck. I priced it around and found it a lot cheaper at a big hardware/farm supply store.
