Stop returning this amazing trim!!
This is a throughway, not an outlet cover. I used this in my pantry cabinet. There is a gap between the wall and the back of my cabinet. I marked the throughway midpoints on top and side then traced it on my cabinet. I cut it out with a multi tool. Then I used a wire cutter and bull-nosed pliers to cut the corners of the throughway and bend off the pieces so that it was the proper depth. I affixed it to the cabinet with a thin bead of silicone. It looks great and now nothing will fall between the cabinet back and the wall. Absolutely love this item, it was JUST what I needed.

Looks great, easy to install
I used a hacksaw for most of my cuts, then realized strong scissors did the job too. To get the correct depth I stuck a measuring tape in the gap then used that to mark my cut. I was hesitant to buy this because of the reviews, but it was the best solution to add trim and access the outlet behind my newly installed cabinet (I installed it that way).

Outlet trim worked perfectly with Flow Wall
We installed modular wall panels in our garage earlier this year & were so pleased with ourselves until we saw the outlet. It looked like a DIY gone bad sunken behind the paneling. We were going to “hide” it behind a ladder, but our guilty consciences prevailed & we knew we had to fix it. Thankfully we found this outlet trim ring cover & it fit perfectly. Problem solved!

Sucks
This product sucks. It’s wayyyyy bigger than the photo looks like. They make it look like it’s the same size as a standard outlet. Not true. Someone said easy to cut and size. NOT TRUE. I basically destroyed it when I cut the depth. Then I said screw it when I tried to resize it to fit total dimensions. What a waste. I never write reviews but this thing sucks. I will just paint it or make my own trim with wood pieces or something different. Find a more creative cheaper solution is my advice.

didn't need afterall
I ended up having a local tile shop cut the holes I needed in my tiles and returned these outlet trim rings. They look like they'd work if you can score and shape the edges perfectly. You have to cut excess off to size of depth needed. Maybe with a hacksaw?
