Awesome Trip Down Memory Lane
I have been a fan of MSW since it first aired on CBS back in the '80s. I enjoyed viewing Season One again, as the first season episodes are rarely shown on the cable channels. Season One offers an introduction to Jessica Fletcher (as played by the wonderful actress, Angela Lansbury), and her hometown of Cabot Cove, Maine. Not one to remain idle, Jessica constantly visits relatives located in various locations throughout the country or attends book signings in other locales. The guest appearances of actors from both film and television make the show quite nostalgic. I love Jessica's wardrobe, and how stylish and classy her character always appears.I have purchased Seasons 1-5, and intend on purchasing the remaining sets. Murder, She Wrote is a delightful series. One in which I look forward to revisiting.

FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY!
I actually never watched this show when it was originally on TV. It debuted in 1984 and it lasted for 12 years! But after recently watching a few episodes for the very first time, I can see why this series was so successfull The story lines are very catchy, you never know who the killer is (and it's hard to figure it out with the many twists and turns along the way) and it's not until the very end that the killer is revealed. It reminds me a lot of the Agatha Christie thrillers.Angela Landsbury does a wonderful job in portraying the famous mystery writer/sleuth named J.B. Fletcher who helps the local police figure out who the killer is. She lives in the fictional coastal town of Cabot Cove in Maine. Some of the episodes take place in Cabot Cove, but many others take place in many different locations since Jessica Fletcher travels the world to promote her latest book. Her characher is very astute but at the same time, she comes across as a very warm and caring person. I think Angela Landsbury was made to play this character, and I can't imagine anyone else doing as good of a job as she does. What I also like about this series is that even though it's a thriller, it doesn't show a lot of violence or blood as many of the newer shows do on TV these days. I love this series and I could go on and keep watching one episode after another (if I had the time). Great series!

"Tonight, on Murder, She Wrote..........."
I love this mystery series mainly because it stars the incomparable Angela Lansbury. This first set begins with the pilot film in which J.B. Fletcher is loath to become a published author and ends with her sticking her nose into everyone's business as somewhat of an expert at solving crimes. Even knowing "whodunit" doesn't keep this series from being entertaining, something to watch repeatedly. It is chockfull of aging movie stars on their way out and young actors supposedly on their way up (although most of them never quite made it into the big time).I too had some difficulty playing these double sided disks. For some reason my Blu-ray player couldn't handle them but my backup cheapo DVD player could. (It's an inconvenience though, switching machines in the middle of an episode, finding where you were with the help of the scene search-&-find feature in the menu.)I was surprised to learn they initially thought to cast Jean Stapleton then Doris Day in the role made famous by Angela Lansbury (I still think it's criminal that they couldn't have coughed up one measly Emmy for the great work she did on this series!). It's also criminal that CBS purposely killed off the series in 1996. Don't even get me started on that!

Murder with Humour and Heart....
The very first Season of TVs' Murder She Wrote with Angela Lansbury as mystery writer, and amateur sleuth, Jessica Fletcher. There are six DVDs in the case with 1062 minutes of very enjoyable viewing time. It's all good stuff - thoroughly enjoyable, very relaxing and perfect for a binge watch! :) The discs come in a smart case, neatly clasped in. Quality of picture is very good. Recommended for fans of the TV series and anyone who loves a good, well performed murder mystery with humour and a heart. Well packaged with excellent Amazon delivery.

Whodunnit?
I love to buy first seasons of tv series and have loads such as Little House on the Prairie, Star Trek, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Incredible Hulk, The Twilight Zone and many others. My partner in crime aka the better half loves Murder She Wrote and all the female cop/crime tv from years gone by. She's obviously picked some tips up as she always seems to catch me out!So I've bought her this first season for Christmas so she can sit in her new slippers and Christmas socks infront of the fire watching Jessica solve crime after crime. I won't mention the Snuggy as it didn't go down well at all last year :(Murder She Wrote was a very successful and well loved series that ran for 12 seasons from 1984 to 1996 and also incorporated 4 movies. In this six disc set you get all 22 episodes including the pilot. Here's a quick run down of the season one episodes which may jog your memory -Disc one-The Murder Of Sherlock Holmes (The Pilot Episode)1 Deadly LadyDisc 22 Birds Of A Feather3 Hooray For Homicide4 It's A Dogs Life5 Lovers And Other KillersDisc 36 Hit, Run And Homicide7 We're Off To Kill The Wizard8 Death Takes A Curtain Call9 Death Casts A SpellDisc 410 Capitol Offense11 Broadway Malady12 Murder To A Jazz Beat13 My Johnny Lies Over The OceanDisc 514 Paint Me A Murder15 Tough Guys Don't Die16 Sudden Death17 Footnote To MurderDisc 618 Murder Takes The Bus19 Armed Response20 Murder At The Oasis21 Funeral At Fifty-MileGuest stars throughout season one included Leslie Nielsen, Martin Landau, Andy Garcia, Joaquin Phoenix, Peter Graves, Vicki Lawrence, Jerry Orbach and Milton Berie. The series is in full screen with English or Dutch subtitles. Vary Good
This is one of those TV programmes my mum used to watch when I was a kid, and I didn't like it back then because it just seemed to wussy to my young teenage mind. But, some handful of years later, I saw a couple of episodes of TV and actually enjoyed it. I think that Angela Lansbury is a brilliant actress and really gave the series its vary own unique way. Good, clean entertainment. I am seriously considering building up the entire 12 series for my collection. So, here is all 22 episodes of the first season which aired from Sep 84 to Apr 85, in which we see a variety of instantly recognisable actors who make appearances from time to time. The transfer to DVD has vary good; picture clear as is the sound.Recommended good family entertainment.

Just right
These episodes are just right for watching while on my exercise bike. I use it most days when at home, and also my rowing machine.I think probably what we all like about this series is the life style. Jessica Fletcher lives in a nice house in a small town where everyone knows her and she is well liked. She travels extensively, and makes her living writing books. Everyone thinks this must be a really enjoyable and easy way to live, so watching the episodes is really a marvellous escape into an ideal world.

the exceptional Murder she wrote.
Angela lansbury is truly insprirational as Jessica fletcher, the retired english teacher turned novelist with a penchant for solving murders. I love a good whodunnit and murder she wrote delivers with warmth and feeling to boot. Tom Bosley(happy days) is brilliant as Cabot Coves sherrif Amos tupper. William Windom is also fantstic as dr. Seth Hazlitt.Get to know Cabot coves Favourite Daughter. The first season starts with Jessica still grieving for Husband, frank fletcher. Did you know, in the show, she and Husband Frank brought up Nephew Grady( a brilliant, loveable Character) he adores his 'Aunt Jess' Brilliant Murder mystery.
